Third Anniversary (pics)

This thread is a little late, but better late than never. Before coming to LHC I always thought my hair was pretty long and pretty healthy. It was pretty healthy, but nowhere near as healthy as it is now. I've learned from all of the awesome people here. I've cut down on washing from 2-3 times a week to once a week or biweekly. I cut down the amount of shampoo I use and added conditioner as well as leave in conditioner. I've stopped brushing my wavy hair and learned to comb or fingercomb instead. I s & d. I've learned to trim my own hair, though I'm still nervous about doing so. I use coconut oil on my length about once a month. This site has become like a second home with lots of amazing people!

January 2013 after a three inch trim at the GM salon. It was my first real trim since joining LHC.

January 2014. The waves are crushed because I had my hair up in a bun most of the day. I did a microtrim in December of 1/2-3/4 inches.

My longest hairs are at 44", but the majority are at 43". I think I'm about two inches from FTL. That was my original goal. Now that I'm so close I don't think that is quite long enough. So for now I'm just going to keep growing and see where I end up.

I'm sure I could if I tried. I mostly do the lazy wrap and nautilus. The vortex turned out pretty cool when I did it for the style of the month though.

I wish! My braid taper is so bad that my bottom (when I fold it up) is at least half of thickness of the top of the braid.

My real goal is to have a CL braid with a tail of a couple inches and no taper, if possible. So I've actually got a long way to go in that department. ;)

It inspired me too! I thought I hadn't grown much length since coming here. Didn't realize until I looked at the first picture compared to now how much it has actually grown. How much my hemline changed either. Makes me think I should pay attention to my pictures more often. :)
