Hi there. I was active here several years ago, and then had a friend offer to give me a trim and SWEAR that she wouldn't cut more than an inch. So, she took off about 6.

I came back and re-introduced myself and was a regular lurker, although not posting as much as I had been previously. I came over the site one day and it was GONE.

I kept checking for a while, but eventually gave up.

So, I'm back (AGAIN!)

I've been posting here and there, but thought it was about time I re-introduced myself, so: Hi! I'm Kina!

I live in New England, my hair is just about 28 inches long, my last trim was on Thanksgiving day (11/2013).

I still have most of my toys, although I seem to have lost (or may have given several away, although I can't for the life of me fathom why, ESPECIALLY my border large purple ficcare and ficcarisimo!). I just finished making a face book page, since all my albums are gone. It was pretty interesting to see how big my bun looked!

I forgot to mention, I moved somewhere that the water is uber hard, so it took me a good solid 2 years to figure out how to manage that. I was dealing with major, massive tangling. I've switched to almond oil which seems to work better, coconut oil was contributing to the tangling. I think that's what happened to my ends.

I've also just gotten a tangle teezer which seems to be helping as well.

Any way, here is a current length picture (there is nothing more depressing than carefully blow drying your hair and it looks so lousy) but here I am.

I am planning on going through 2014 without trims, then take stock, see where my hair is and start trimming to thicken up my ends.

without further ado:

I'm on the north shore of Boston and our water is hard. I've found that an ACV rinse between shampoo and conditioner makes my hair soft.

How far North? I lived in Chelsea/Everett/Malden area and never had a problem. I moved to Central Ma and my hair went to hell. Appropriate, since Central Ma *is* my idea of hell...
