I am wondering if there are any ways of researching formulations of different products. All that's listed on bottles is ingredients and manufacturer's claims. Many brands are very different in reputation and claims, but are still under the same company (e.g. L'Oreal owns The Body Shop, Pureology, Garnier, Shu Uemura, and many many others). Does that mean they use similar technology or laboratories? How do I research their manufacturing methods? Do bigger brands have better labs and more advanced tech? Most "natural brands" are pretty small... and if they are bought by bigger companies, how do I find out if the manufacturing stays the same or if they really change what they do?
