Hi all,

just thought I would share! I've had red hair for about a year now, and it is never exactly what I want, didn't look very shiny, and was generally a huge PITA!

I decided to have it dyed to my natural colour, get some of the damage trimmed off and leave a wee bit of the red in just for fun as a little reminder of my red days!

Now I can just leave it to grow, focus on getting rid of the damage and not stress about fading hair colour every two weeks.

Here are pics, what do you think?

before (on a very good day, natural waves)

after (salon styled)

I love it. I feel more me and relaxed and less worried About my hair. I think I had about an inch off in total, but I am confident I'll still be at BSL by summer :)

Love both those colours on you - the red hair is beautiful and striking but I think the dark compliments your skin tone even more. Lucky you, you can rock both amazingly well. :)

Looks great in both pictures but you can see that it's shinier in the second one ! I think you made the good choice by going back to brunette, but you rock both !!

Your hair looks very pretty in both of the pictures. :) I just had to ask -- if those are your natural waves you surely can't be 'just' a 1C? Your hair looks more like a 2A-2B to me.

Sooo pretty! And more importantly you love it! Salons can be such tricky places that it's wonderful when you get exactly what you want, and you look fantastic because of it.

:oThe red was gorgeous, but I feel that brunette hair on you is stunning, especially with your beautiful eye color! :flowers:

I'm eager to hear about your boyfriend's reaction - has he seen you with your natural color?

Very nice! It looks so shiny. :) I'm jealous though! I've been getting the itch to dye mine since I have a couple friends who are making a change right now, so I just glopped some henna on it and that satisfied me for the time being. Maybe I'll experiment with Manic Panic in the future - I've been craving my purple streaks!

Thanks everyone!

My boyfriend was funny, he said his residual image of me is with dark hair anyway and he thinks it is very pretty. He spur he still isn't used to me having long hair though, as his image of me is with short hair!

joflakes, you and your boyfriend must've been together quite a long time if he still thinks of you as a short haired gal (your hair is so long). :)

Aww thanks. Yeah the red was cool but the darker brown really shines I think. Much healthier looking!

Joflakes,

I love the new color and the trim looks good as well, I always liked the red, but the brown really suits you too. :flower: I remember the frustration with red. When I dyed my hair, I spent a few years red, loved the color, but towards the end it really started to fade fast, and I had to switch to brown as well.

so pretty! I think foregoing the dye will be really beneficial, I'm on the same path. It seems like once at APL or BSL, delicacy becomes increasingly important for the growing process.
