About a month ago I made a thread with my two month post-chop progress. Here is a link to that thread: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=117788

I promise I'm not going to do this every month, but I just wanted to share my three month pictures (taken while I was snowed in over the weekend). I'm doing the photo a month challenge and I'll be keeping my albums updated.

Here's one of how far down the fringe has gotten.

Here's one with the ends flipped out to see the length a little better (it curls under in the front and makes it hard to tell).

Here's one from the back. Its getting long and thick enough now that its hard to get it perfectly straight and I couldn't be happier. I was going to get the ends trimmed here soon, but they're still in good shape even if they are growing a little wild. I think I'll wait until they start getting crunchy before I start cutting any off.

And finally, here's my dear pony. I can't even tell you how happy I was to feel my pony brushing my shoulders/back of my neck a few weeks back. This has always been my favorite way to wear my hair and I'm certain that one of these days I will be a 90 year-old woman still using crazy colored pony-tail holders, bopping down the nursing home hallway with my long hair swinging away.

You can't tell from the pictures, but the back of my hair has started getting a little "broom shaped" and I'm not sure what to do about it. My ends are still soft, but they are splaying out all crazy, especially on the sides of my hemline. Would adding a slight U-shape help or just trimming straight across help? Its been about five years since I've had my hair up above BSL so I don't quite remember how to fix this.

I think it may be one of those thing where you'll just have to wait it out.

Go ahead and do a thread every month. That's what we're all here for, to encourage one another in our hair journeys. Your hair looks great. I love your ponytail! I think the splaying out flipping ends is normal at that length. I have pictures of my hair doing the same thing at about that length. It will grow. In the meantime, french braids and ponytails to keep that flipping hair out of your way. Good growth!

Thanks ladies! I'm hoping that the splayed out end stage is the last awkward stage in growing out this cut. There's still one chunk in back that I'm not too crazy about the way its layered, but it looks better the longer and fuller my hair gets. I'm hoping that with a couple more month's growth I'll be comfortable getting a little taken off the end and having the layers trimmed and re-blended. It is so nice having this community to keep me mindful of good hair practices as well as the importance of just letting my hair grow and do its own thing. I really appreciate it.
