Hello, LHC!

I am thoroughly enjoying this forum so thank you all for your contributions to such a great community.

One thing I really enjoy is seeing all these gorgeous hair pictures everywhere and thought I would start a place for everyone to post drool-worthy hair pictures all in one spot so that I, and everyone else, may open this thread and scroll picture upon picture of hair gloriosity. (By the time we are done -- never! -- that may even be a real word . Haha.)

P.S. By all means, PLEASE do not hesitate to post your own pictures! I have seen so many gorgeous hair pictures since being on this forum and part of the reason for the creation of this thread is because of all the beautiful ones I've seen here :flower:!

Happy New Year and Happy Growing, all!
:grouphug:

And I hope to begin by a Petra Nemcova hair pictures onslaught! I do think she seems to have exceptionally gorgeous hair...

Do we really want unrealistic hair pics up here of celebrities and people who have an entire stylist team to their disposal? I mean... I much prefer the hair length threads we already have that display "natural" hair, not these photoshopped, pepped up dos (heat styling, hairspray etc.)

I agree, I like seeing hair that is beautiful in it's more natural state not hair with a ton of product that takes a ridiculous amount of time to mold into place. Her hair does look nice, it's just not my kind of hair I guess lol.

If you read the OP carefully, you'll notice that there is no mention you can't post hair you personally find gorgeous,be it whatever it is.

I just wonder if this thread won't end up in sharing pics of LHC members (or other people) without them knowing/being comfortable with it? There are many pics from lhc popping up if you pic search hair-related words.

Wish I could like this post a 100 times over, couldn't agree more.

I'll do it! I love beautiful hair pictures no matter what. Of course I used to do hair and make-up for theatre and print (and a little video work, but not as much as the others). So I'm always looking for hair inspiration whether it be highly styled or natural.

Here is my inspiration picture of my own hair. This was taken in the month before the big chop. I think when I get it back out that long I will probably keep long layers in it so that the waves are a little more pronounced(this was basically all one length because of my plans to donate it), but I just love the color it had naturally bleached out to.

This is where I hope to be by this summer: http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e198/JessieAnn7/2014-01-04015927.jpg

This is where I hope to be sometime next winter: http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e198/JessieAnn7/2013-12-31005354.jpg

And this is where I hope to be by the end of 2015 (Actually sooner, but I'm making some allowances for trims): http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e198/JessieAnn7/2014-01-09195111.jpg This picture actually reminds me a lot of my own hair when I was growing out my last set of highlights.

So there are some of my own goals and inspirations.

Yes, I do. I appreciate both natural and styled hair. Hair styling is an art whether or not you use heat or lots of products, and art is pleasing to look at. :) The OP said we can post pics of hair that WE find beautiful, not just one type of hair. If someone loves overstyled celebrity hair, whatever! If someone loves natural flowing hair, okay!

I'm actually really into shorter styles lately, so I hope it's okay that I post a few "short hair" pics. :) Maybe they will inspire someone growing out a pixie, or someone wanting to do a big chop for whatever reason.

& lots of super fun/punky colors here: http://www.haircolorsideas.com/

Also: The pics the OP posted of Petra Nemcova's hair could easily be achieved "the LHC way" without heat. A little spray or oil for shine and some rollers or pins for fingerwaves, leave it for a while, a voila. That hair doesn't look overstyled or unhealthy to me at all.

I am truly sorry if I seem to have stepped on toes here :(. I don't think that was the spirit of my post but I do realize that interpretations can run aplenty and I apologize if my post made you feel unhappy because it would not be my intention at all. I really do like and appreciate the community here and like I said, I have seen many gorgeous pictures of hair here and elsewhere and thought I would start a thread to have "inspiration" and "admiration" pictures and never ever in my life intended negative feelings.

Well, I do thank you for reminding me that these are probably people with their hair professionally done. I am newly fascinated by hair (didn't even appreciate it when my hair was tailbone, really) and more than a little naive about some things: I recently got the courage to compliment someone in the washroom about her beautiful hair and she very openly and warmly told me they were extensions. So, yes, naive for sure and I should remember about all the work that must've gone into celebrities' heads of hair oftentimes. However, I am still unsure if I am naive to think that natural hair can look like that too. I imagine so! I also admire the hair of the celebrity I posted because of how her scalp looks (very flush hairline, full hair, etc.) because I am very possibly losing my own (thinning and receding hairline) and it was nice to see.

If you read the OP carefully, you'll notice that there is no mention you can't post hair you personally find gorgeous,be it whatever it is.

Thank you for being so nice, LadyCelestina. I wrote a response above to another poster explaining more in detail but, in brief, I want to confirm that I never ever intended ANY negative feelings to anyone and that in fact it was this forum that I found so many gorgeous hair pics in the first place! I was secretly hoping those members would come and share more "glamor shots." You are right about the importance of privacy issues!!! Hopefully, those with great hair pictures may share. Or, alternatively, I suppose the thread could be a "SHARE YOUR GOOD HAIR DAY PICTURES!" I think that might be really good! It would fit right under the umbrella of "Gorgeous Hair Pictures."

Again, thank you for understanding the spirit of why I started this thread :flower:. Happy Growing!

I also understand that I am newly fascinated by hair and more than a bit naive (mistaking other people's extensions for real hair in real life and gushing over them, etc.) and often overlook (or don't automatically think of) the work that must've gone into it.

Oh my gosh. Thank you for sharing the pictures! I love them. This, I think, was the spirit of the thread when I started it... Your hair seems very well-behaved! And with the goal reference pictures, and I'm guessing well-made plans, I'm sure you'll get there wonderfully! Enjoy the gorgeous hair there all the way through the process though! Happy Growing and thanks again for sharing!

VIDEO! You have helped me discover yet another medium of hair appreciation. Hahaha. That is beautiful hair. I didn't take as much notice to condition of hair until I started reading and then joining in on this forum but, wow, silkiness down such lengths... VERY inspiring to me to take much better care of my hair. Thank you for sharing! And Happy Growing!

Pinterest! I remember hearing my friends talking about it before (interior decorating ideas) and not really thinking much of it... I just opened your page and now see why it's so great. Haha. Also, very welcome are pictures of shorter hair or those lengths of hair! I'm growing out a choppy short cut and find them very inspiring. (They all have more/ longer hair than me.) Thanks for sharing! Now, I will willingly enter into this Pinterest vortex... :D!

Same! The last thing I wanna do to my hair is ever bleach it, especially now that i've been using henna... but I LOOOOVE pastel hair. I secretly wish I was naturally light blonde so I could dye it fun colors with minimal damage. Lucky blondes!

I have to agree with you, Lapushka. This forum has spoiled me so badly. I really prefer naturally beautiful unprocessed hair now.

Oh of course you didn't mean anything wrong :).Don't worry about it,LHC is a very nice community, but has it's sensitive themes, which include most of what you'll find in women's magazines :D.

Sharing our good hair pictures is a great idea for a thread!

Also, everybody,I just learned today that there is a rule on LHC about posting pics...http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=114999&p=2559886&viewfull=1#post2559886
I think it might be better to just link some of the images :o
