Did you experience hair loss? I am and I think it is the Lithium.

I have never taken Lithium, however hair loss is a possible side effect.

I did, and it damaged my thyroid permanently. Years after that a new doctor didn't believe me and put me back on it and within one month my thyroid meds had to be increased. I don't remember any hair loss from it, but I wasn't on it that long.

I am currently taking Faverin (Fluvoxamine) and it hasn't affected my hair at all (which is wavy/curly at APL/BSL). Yet, some people do complain from a hair loss-induced side effect of SSRIs and mood stabilizers.

it is possible. as it can cause hypothyroidism, it can induce hair loss too :(

I've got two (unrelated to each other!) family members who are/have been on lithium. To my knowledge, neither had hairloss, but the one who is no longer on it definitely told me he had a change in hair texture while taking it. It's worth noting that he was also experiencing toxicity symptoms at the time.

My father was on lithium for over 25 years. No hair loss and no change in texture.

I take lithium. My hair hasn't changed that I've noticed. However, medications affect our individual chemistry differently.

From someone in the mental health field, please don't stop taking a prescribed medication without consulting your prescribing doctor (PCP or Psychiatrist) first. :)
