My hair is just past shoulder length and fine. im trying to get to mbl-wl in about 1.5 years... it seems to grow an inch a month since ive been taking biotin, fishoil and prenatal vitamins. I also do scalp massages and nylon bristle brush

My question is about cones. I know people are concerned how their hair looks with them, but i worry about the all around heath of my hair by using cones. My hair never ever tangles and is super silky. But i worry that i need added moisture and that cones will dry out my hair and make it more brittle. I use bumble and bumble shampoo ( i shampoo once every 3 days and condition every day)

and i use these products for hair (not all at once)

The use of product is a *personal* choice. There is no harmful product out there. You just have to experiment (one product, weeks at a time) and see what your hair responds to the best.

Are you confusing moisture (= water) with conditioning? How do you know your hair needs more moisture?

Whilst I don't use silicones because I believe there are better alternatives for my hairs needs, I am not aware of any evidence that silicones damage or dehydrate the hair. They are king for detangling and smoothing for very straight styles - not attributes useful to all or at all lengths.

Coconut oil is proven to penetrate hair: reducing porosity, increasing elasticity and reducing structural protein loss when washing. Like silicones this is only beneficial if dictated by your hair properties - do you have an issue with porosity or elasticity?

Hydrolysed protein is beneficial for many with finer hair giving body/ volume, patch repairing damage, general strengthening, forming a film for shine, weak humectant so help hair hold the righ amount of moisture. Do use in moderation as it can build up and dry out hair if overused.
