I feel I need to dye my hair soon. I have highligts growing out (about a year down) as well as various other colours to grow out. My virgin hair is level 4/5 brown with 10% silver.

I have really dark eyes, and very warm (yellow) skintone.
I want to try the Lush Caca Brun or possibly marron, to hopefully even out some haircolour and tint my grey roots. (I,d be happy even if the grey turna orange, as long as they're warm)

My worries are;

If the bleached hair would turn darker than the rest (I prefer it to look sunfaded, even if I have to many levels and colours now)

If i can never do highlights again

If the henna which supposedly stays longer would be cool violet red (dont think it works with my complexion.)

Maybe issues I didnt thought about

And, what colour to go for caca brun, marron or mixed?

Yay, nay or other suggestions would be much appreciated.
I am leaning towards cacabrun, before New Years

I doubt the highlights would turn out darker since they are lighter than the rest of your color. I'd say no to getting highlights again if you use it because it has indigo which can turn green if you try to bleach it and henna is usually an orange red not violet so I don't think you'd have to worry about that.

I did henndigo more than a year ago just once (henna+ indigo 50:50), my natural colour was ash light brown (5 months of virgin hair)and had some blonde outgrown highlights, colour turned out medium dark brown on whole head. It got lighter and redder with time. After 4 months I was totally red head. I guess indigo washed out after couple of months leaving me just with henna.
About 10 months after my henndigo I did some highlights and they turned out blonde with no shade of blue/green or red.

Currently outgrowing henna and highlights.

Any part of your hair that is lighter now will be lighter after dying with henna. I have natural highlights that are lighter than the rest of my hair all the way down.

I've used both Caca Brun and Marron, and wasn't thrilled with the results I had with the Marron (it seemed to fade out and wasn't as vibrant as I was hoping), but the Caca Brun did exactly as it said it would, and I would definitely try that first given your description of your complexion.

If you want to do highlights again, I'd wait about 6 months after any dye with indigo in it, but for most people it washes out a bit after several months at which point bleaching in highlights would be just fine. :)

Thanks alot for your helpful replies.
I will take the plunge today (I think) and be smelly at new years I guess. I cant see how it can go really wrong (with my dark hair), I need to find a substainable way to dye my silvers a few years, and henna/henndigo seems to be a good option(hate having damaged hair). ŽAnd maybe I soon look into the option to mix at home soon, if needed. Although I will miss the sparks highlights give (I had baylage done for the last years). When I look for my dreamcolour I tend to love the dark ones with highlights. If someone knows a way to do this, please share with me.

I did it! And I am very happy with my result. Thanks to this forum and all helpful members my hair looks recovered. I picked Maroon up ( thinking I'd rather not end up with too much indigo.
