I'm making a poll to get an idea of where everyone is based here on LHC. It looks like more West Coasters than East Coast, but I could be wrong. I'd also love to know where everyone else is from in Europe et al :)

I'm from Ontario originally (and it's where I am for the next twenty-four hours :P) but I do go to uni in Scotland, which is where my parents were born and where I may stay after uni (I haven't really thought that far ahead yet, though both places are nice). I voted Central Canada, though.

ETA: also, for those of you who ask why the UK and Ireland aren't in Europe, I see two possibilities. For one, the UK (which included Ireland for a long time) has historically distanced itself from continental Europe because it is situated apart from it. Secondly, the UK and Ireland are English-speaking, and on an English-speaking forum there is a natural differentiation between the English-speaking posters and those who do not speak English as a first language. Consequently, it is likely that there is a greater percentage of Europeans who reside in the UK and R of I than the rest of Europe, which would be of interest when discussing whence people come.
