Here is my most recent pic! My blunt hemline seems to be becoming a natural U shape. I haven't trimmed since mid-August and don't have any actual damage or splits at this time, so I'm still not trimming. My hands are on my hips in this picture, right where my pants sit.

Counting from the lines on the shirt, it looks like you have gained at least 2 lines, if not 3 (one is sort of hidden on the second pic) so yes, fabulous growth,

For comparison sake, here is my picture from March 1.

There seems to be a HUGE difference between the two. The 4/1/14 pic was 3 days after washing, the 3/1/14 pic was wash day and still slightly damp.

Well, my pictures don't show a lot, but I measured my hair, and since 1st of March, my hair has apparently grown 1,5 cm!
If I measured correctly, but I measured as I usually do!

So right now I'm at 25,98 inches (66 cm).

Anyway, here are my photos;

I should add that I did some very needed S&D-ing.

As always, love your hair colour, Snorman (wrote Snowman first :o)! Very enviable!

arihS, I forgot that you can't see my pictures yet... *^_^* Well, my hair is one inch shorter than yours, but I'd say my hair looks shorter than it should due to my fifty-eleven layers. ;/ I always forget that many of the pictures of hair lengths in this forum are taken after bunning and braiding, so I get confused when I see e.g. a "1b" and see defined waves in the picture. Have you gotten yourself 'officially' hairtyped yet?

We are on the same page, hair growth-wise, so here's hoping we'll having an epic growth spurt this year...! Maybe we'll reach BSL by the end of the year (one can always hope :D)?

You're welcome dutches, I cant help but comment individually because I like addressing to each person since everyone is so different :) About measuring, I didnt start that until about Oct last year and for the same reason, because i was obsessing to much but also i found it to hard to get an accurate number each time - Its much easier now to measure tho so half of the frustration is gone and im finding it very helpful to know how much i grow on average each month so i know how much to trim when i start maintaining - got to think about the future right :)

You are welcome ashke50, i tried to just give a general comment to everyone "great growth everyone" but ahhhhh, I find it better if i address to each person - I wish there was a "like" button on here like facebook has so that way each person will know that they have been acknowledged and liked... hmmm....

arihS Im glad im not to annoying, wish i could at least shrink my post a bit but anyway... :chocolate:

By the look of it, you should be able to touch that next green line by next month - so close!!! I can see growth from last month to april as well - congrats!!!!! something is better than nothing at all :) Is your hair black or a dark brown?

I love that feeling to Wosie, when it just "feels" longer :)

I know what you mean Lyv, I had layers in my hair for a good 6 years - I mean LOTS and LOTS of layers to the point where maybe only 10 strands were at waist and my shortest was bellow ear level :O My hair isnt all one length now but most of my hair is at least one length by MBL and it feels amazing!!!!! the thickness, i love it!!! and its so easy to care for it all at once especially with trims and what not.

Congrats on your growth Snorman, have i ever mentioned how much I LOOOOVE your colour?! It looks really awesome the longer it gets :)

I agree Tini, there should have been a "Like" button here, easier to acknowledge everyone's post. And yes, of course we need to think about the future :D I admire your ability/patience to go thru each post and leave appropriate personal comments. You make each one of our day special. I just glance thru the last post and leave comment, haha. Let me try your way now.

Snorman, your hair looks so much fuller and longer, congrats. Pretty colour too. You must be pleased to see the difference :)

arihS, I see so much growth, looks like more than 1cm. It's almost touching the bottom line, by next month you'll be there. Congrats!

Everyone seems to have excellent growth :)

My pics for this month with Feb and March included. LOL I was not surprised that my hair actually looks shorter since last month, some of the wave has returned. *shrugs I'm not sweating it too much, I know my hair has grown this month, because my buns are wrapping a little bit further. Hoping to get to APL dry, wavy within the next 6-8 weeks, the very longest ends are flirting with it when wet now.

You all have such lovely hair and it' so much fun to see your comparisons! I look forward to getting to know you all better.

OK, this is my first time posting a length photo, so I don't have a comparison yet. This is also my first "typing" photo and the first time I think I've *ever* let my hair dry without combing or brushing it, which was kind of a shock. I didn't realize I had that much wave in there. My avatar photo is from a self-trim so it was extra-well combed that day. That's what I usually see.

Welcome, KellyBelly! Your hair looks so healthy and I love the color! Have fun growing your hair!

duchess67 Thanks! I´m hoping that too:D Although I´m planning a 1 cm trim this month so it might take a bit longer:p

Tini No, no, it´s not annoying at all!! It´s really very considerate, and that your posts are a bit large, who cares!;) My hair is dark brown, but sometimes it can look black (depending on the light and how i´d washed my hair or how long it is in between washes, or if it´s oiled). Sometimes it also looks a bit lighter, again depending on all those things, and thanks again!:) What always strikes me when I see your signature/pictures, is that your hair grows so so fast, and is really healthy too!:D

Wosie Haha, I´m with you hoping to reach BSL at the end of this year! We´ll get there! Do you want to keep your fifty-eleven:p layers, or are you letting them grow out? You make it sound as if you think you have a bit too much of them:P I have layers too and I want to let them grow out, so the growing in general will take me a bit longer:( I haven´t had myself hairtyped yet, no. I´ll do that someday when I can keep myself from oiling/condition my hair too early:p

arihS Sounds like my hair, actually you can see how much my colour changes from my siggy as well but in general i say its brown and then it depends what shade of brown is from day to day haha

Sterlyn I think the shrinkage is caused by your waves and also your head seems a bit tilted forward! - but congrats on your growth!

Sterlyn, there's definitely a difference in length if you notice the lines. In the last month's pic, your hair was barely touching the green line, this month it has crossed the light blue line and touching the dark blue line, though the waves did take out a bit of length. But it has certainly grown, no doubt about it. Congrats!

I'm adding my picture a little late this month because I have been trying to get an accurate measure of my length. My waves/curls have been varying day to day. Last month on a not so curly day, my hair measured 24" and today my hair was pretty wavy/curly and it measured 24 1/2". Usually my hair grows about an inch per month but either my curls ate up the length or my hair just didn't grow as much this month. He is the picture regardless with some braid waves.

I know exactly how you feel, Sterlyn, waves have a tendency to really shorten one's hair... I think that once we've reached BSL or so, the wave pattern will be more uniform and loose, as the hair's getting heavy and the waves can't form as well anymore. I will miss my 2a waves (I think I will dip down to 1c or even 1b when my hair gets really long), but at the same time I'm looking forward to having more control over them!

Today the wurls are eating this month's growth (apparently it's feeling naughty and wants to look thinner). Gained the usual 0.5" this month; the modified inversion method didn't add any extra length as far as I can tell.

I haven't posted any photos before but I've been taking them every 21st of the month. I'm going to post my jan-feb-march photos and then update again in two weeks with the April shot. I'm very slowly crawling my way down the stripes.

http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab33/divinedobbie/1823e4b4-43bf-4e97-afb6-ed10021ee5ab_zpseceab813.jpg (http://s847.photobucket.com/user/divinedobbie/media/1823e4b4-43bf-4e97-afb6-ed10021ee5ab_zpseceab813.jpg.html)

I'm veeeryy careful about taking my length photos. I have dots exactly where I put my camera each time, where I stand and my nose is always aligned to the wall.

ETA: I'm almost back to where I was before I chopped off two inches in the beginning of January. :D

Hi Tini, Thank's for you kind words. I know I don't have a stripey tshirt or anything with patterns and I don't measure either, I find it impossible, lol..I just look at it and see. I'll have my April picture up soon, so we'll see what has happened since March :)

Your wurls are awesome TrapperCreekD! I think they look really cool :)

I managed to take a photo today (a week late  ). The posture is horrible due to the fact that my back decided to hurt. A lot.
Aaaand if that wasn't bad enough, my hair decided that it has some kind of wierd waves going on today (I'm a straightie, dang it! I would kill for waves every day but length-shot day! :p )

But yeah, here we go:

Hi guys!

Here I am with my update. I took the picture on March31 for the month, but I was so disappointed I didn't even want to post it. But I guess I'll post it for the record.

The thing is that I didn't gain any length at all! Nada. I had the trimming urge and went snippety snap and cut about two inches off! I did the Feye's method so I cut one inch with the pigtails, and then again with the one pony tail without realizing that I was making it a twice as short I guess. I cut by the moon also and find the crescent moon irresistible and think, now is the time! :(

Next time I'm just going to dust and cut a very tiny bit and not be so ambitious...

Anyway, here are the pics with the progress:

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=10248&d=1396998558

I think I made a very small progress with the bangs though, that I'm having a hard time with catching up. Also because those hairs seem to be more curly than the rest and they spring up:

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=10249&d=1396998588

Hopefully for next month I'll see a difference. :D

Aw, thanks Duchess67! My hairline is so ragged from mechanical damage that I'm only claiming where the bulk of my hair is, currently waist. About 1/3 is at waist, about 1/3 is in between waist and hip, and the remainder is at hip. Heck, I have racers that are at BCL! the hemline is driving me crazy, but no trims until 2015. Hopefully by then I can do a U shaped hemline / trim (like in your siggy pic, I think your hair is lovely in it!) and it will be at goal length.

Oh well, good thing is that taper really helps with buns :)

I don't think there's anything TMI about observing when you reach nipple length, lol! I am sure all of us notice that milestone. I'm about 1-2" above navel length when pulled around front. When I finally reach it, I'll know for sure my hair has grown. Sometimes because I see my hair every day I don't feel like it's growing at all. The pictures and measurements and body markers really help me see the growth. Only half a month to go until picture/measurement day.

Hello ladies! I got a question.. So, I feel like my hair grows super slow.. today I took a photo and I found a photo with the same clothes but it's almost three months ago. So, do you think my hair has grown for these three months? (I had a trim during this period, but I took just a little bit so that doesn't matter) So the jeans are the same.

I will keep my fingers crossed that you make it into the next black stripe next month :)

Measuring day is tomorrow for me, I will let you know :) Just deciding if I should oil it so I can wash it tomorrow. I feels clean now, but I doubt it will tomorrow, that would be day 4.

Seems like no time and ages since last months picture all at the same time. I hope the dress is going to be kind to me. That one hair that's longest feels a little longer than it did last month :D

I keep having thoughts about maybe maintaining at tailbone if that longest hair can get there, so the rest of it can catch up. It will be 5 years since my last trim this summer. Maybe that is long enough? IF it can get there... :)

Looking at where your elbows are id say that there has been definite growth

I agree, it looks quite a lot longer when you look at your elbows. It would be easier to see your progress if you could find somewhere with better light so there were less shadows and tried to stand in a more similar position each time.

You know what may help..in all photos, hold you elbows the same way you did in the January photo. Then you can use them as a marker.

Arwenlily Congrats on your growth, braid waves look so natural on you, very pretty.

Congrats on your growth TrapperCreekD - thats better than nothing, your hair has grown a lot in these past few months.

Im very specific with my markers to divinedobbie :) Congrats on your growth, you are sure and truly making your way down.

Oh my gosh Verdandi your hair has grown so much!!!! Congrats!!!!

Jennah Your hair is so stunning!!! Why do you trim so much anyway? How often? I would do it every 6 months if you must.

Colourful I had that same thing happen with my last two months comparison but I can feel it had grown to even if it didnt exactly show as much.... maybe the condition of the hair that day also plays a huge part on how it looks length wise... Anyhow, congrats on your growth!!! Your hair is travelling down so fast! :)

lauramuurr Seriosly i fall off my chair everytime i see your super stunning curls!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on your growth!

XcaliburGirl Cant believe how fast your hair travelled to that black line :O amazing! congrats on your growth!

Kina, congrats on your growth! Its stuns me every time i look at your starting pic to now, thats a lot of growth!!! So do you plan to cut back to the thickness?

Congrats on your growth jonnaps, I can see your hair is going passed that line now.

stachelbeere Congrats on your growth, you have very almost covered that white stripe, how much is that in measurement? Sometimes I measure the stripes itself 

Dessi I can see a huge amount of growth but your hemline is a little bit "rolled" up in waves so it takes some of the length. Congrats on your growth, your hair is just stunning!!!!

Soooo excited to post my monthly length shot tomorrow, dying to see how much ive grown since last month :D woohoo!

Hi Tini (btw, that's my sister's name :)). Thanks, I'm not planning to cut any until 2015. What I have noticed with my hair, however, is that the thickness travels down the length. My hair always fairytales, no matter what, so achieving a beautifully blunt hairline is not in the cards. Once the bulk of it is where I want it to be, my plan is the trim in U shape, with some long layers.

Right now though, I'm astonished at the shrinkage I'm experiencing with adding more product to my hair ala Curly Girl method. It's currently sitting at BSL right now, so probably 5 inches or so of shrinkage

Your hair has an amazing growth rate! It's lovely.

Aww, thank you so much for your post to me! And the compliment but it´s so short that it´s hard to see it.

Anyway, I want to tell you that you are my hair hero in this forum!!! I just can´t believe that you grew from APL to waist in one year! That´s just amazing! And I cannot believe that you haven´t trimmed in two years and were able to resist that! (Although I know that the last month you did because I´ve searched back your posts and read a ton of them to see what your secret was, and I was glad to see more pictures of you. Love the red lipstick that is your trade mark, and your sister was mean).

To answer your question, I´ve been trimming because of the bangs situation! I just want to have it all in one length and not grow it kind of stupid like that. I want it to be perfect or something.

(If I move the hair to the side now, not to have it over my face, it just makes one big puff kind of short on the side and I don´t like that I want long strands all the way).

I´m eager to see your update tomorrow! Good going there!

Yes, don't blame Kina! It's really hard to tell!
Oh, the only one I blame is myself..sorry .. Next time I'll think about this before doing photos.

You know what may help..in all photos, hold you elbows the same way you did in the January photo. Then you can use them as a marker.

I see a difference in growth.

Thank you!

Kina that sounds like a good plan, I think a U shaped hemline will look very pretty on you and it might be exactly what your hair needs. I found that the less i do to my hair the better it behaves so in the past i used to do oil treatments once a week, used to try baking soda washes, ACV rinses etc etc etc but these days i just shampoo + conditioner (SLS free) once every 4 days then i bun it up with sticks or braids and im done. It takes a while to figure out what works for you i guess. I can also see the thickness of your hair travelling down really nicely to :)

Thanks Jennah, yup once you find your "trademark" keep it!! It took me years to figure out what i really like and not really just following trends anymore. Hmm funny that, i never actually realised that i made it from APL to Waist in just one year - oh my gosh!!!! I almost fell off my chair when you said that! haha :) I been focusing so much on how long its taking me from shoulder to WL that ive pretty much ignored any other milestone... I see what you mean about the bangs, Ive had the same problem - my bangs now are APL but i notice that my bangs actually grow a lot slower!!! I swear when my hair was shoulder length my bangs were about nose to chin so you can see how behind these are in growth now! My bangs should be at MBL if it kept up, maybe this is something you should consider? Trust me, once your bangs hits shoulder length you wont even notice them anymore because they blend in really nicely :)

Weeell... I'm not too sure that'll happen next month :/ I couldn't bear my hair tangling all the time at the ends and I discovered that I had a lot of split ends and breakage so I decided to micro trim which in my case is quiet a set back, by probably two months or so. Here is a photo from before and after (http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/ag76/stachelbeere/april_2014_before_and_after_trim_600pxcopy_zpsc2f4 5ee9.jpg)
On the one hand my ends are in a better condition (I can run my finger through it and I don't encounter too many mean, tiny tangles that bend hairs) and I have a nicer looking hemline (although I dislike that my hair grows in an inverted V shape - there are two transparent-ish points in the middle of my hemline - probably because of my hairline at the nape, which sort of has vertical 'widow's peaks'. On the other hand though... I lost all that length :'(

I hope your hair got longer by a stripe or two! That one pioneer hair can't be lying hehe ;) looking forward to seeing your picture!

Thanks Tini! That's a great idea for reference points! I measured the stripes and this is how long they are:
black stripe = 1 cm or 0,4 inches
white stripe = 1,5 cm or 0,6 inches

let's see how it goes next month :)

Hey guys. Here are my shots. I had to do my April one tonight because once again it wont work to do them for a few days otherwise.

Anyhow, Yes my hair has grown, not much BUT i am now officially 30 inches AAAANNND a little bit over - you will have to count the stripes to see the difference because i havent managed to line up the pictures properly.

Also i think that this might be the last time i will post a shirtless comparison, ive only done it to show when i reach waist but im done now. So excited to see my hair covering that line :D

And a bonus picture from earlier today - this is just to show my length in my regular clothing - please ignore the condition of it, its starting to get greasy but its not due for a wash for another day :D

Congratulations!

Your hair went from longish in January, to super long in April! Just amazing! Your hair is gorgeous! Thick, healthy, shiny, thick hemline, beautiful shiny color. Good job Tini!

Ps: And thanks for the advice with the bangs, they do grow slower I noticed that too. Thanks for saying it´ll get better after shoulder length, needed to hear that and not trim so much!

I'm sorry you found some splits and had to trim :( It must feel much better to be able to run your fingers through it though? It's only a very small patch that looks slightly more transparent. I wouldn't worry about it, you've got a loooong way until you end up with ghost hair like mine has turned into :)

Did you trim yourself? It looks very well done, you didn't loose much length. I hope you'll be back to where you were in no time :)

Mine is doing okay. I won't burn the dress this month :D It doesn't look much different, it's easier to see it when it's wet lol. I believe stretched it has made it to 37 inches now. If I put one finger where my tailbone is and stretch my hair out they touch. I think I am just about at *ahem tmi* top hair touching the lower hair at the front now too. It's hard to check that one without bending at the waist, I've been folding my arms while standing up straight to hold my hair place then checking it!

Still thinking about trimming a little bit, never thought that little group of hair would get to tbl, thought it would keep breaking off. Need to work out exactly what I am trying to achieve with that though. I would like the ends to be less invisible, but I don't want them to be blunt. If I could cut a V, I don't know if I could get the shape I want or catch all the ends in that. If I cut straight across would it fairytail anyway? Then what would be the point?

Probably work it out or talk myself out of it by the summer when it would be my 5 year no trim anniversary :/

LauraLongLocks Thank you!!! Im actually using my wedding photo album because it has a soft material cover which keeps it from sliding off my head :D Best thing ever and I know that my posture is always right for my shots.

cathair I cant believe how far up your hair bounces when un-stretched, wow! and i also see some really nice growth, congrats!! Btw Tini 172 cm is about 5 feet 6 inches but when you put 5 1/2 we might assume you mean 5 feet and half an inch (even though 5 1/2 feet makes sense) :)

There was definitely growth!!! Yay! :) Maybe it's because spring has finally arrived - I've heard that you've had some gorgeous weather over in the the UK in the last few days/ weeks.
I think it's up to you what you want to achieve with your hair and what makes you feel good. I think it's incredible that you managed not to trim for almost 5 years - my hair becomes tangly after some time but depending on how I treat it that happens sooner or later. Were you doing any S&D at all?

That mini trim felt quiet good actually. In hindsight, I should have tried to clarify my ends which I ended up doing anyway afterwards but the amount of splits, dots, breakage, and the resulting tangles and bent hair helped me make the decision. It's indeed easier to run my fingers through my hair now which is a great feeling. And yes, I trimmed myself - with Feye's trimming method and I actually thought I trimmed MUCH less than I actually did. Oh well. In the end it doesn't really matter.

ah okay! 172 cm is quieeet different from 152 cm :D
I am 157 cm tall. Hip on me is around 85 cm-ish... that's a little over 33 inches. And I think this will be my goal length. It should take a long time to get there for me :)

kganihanova you are probably right. I think it will be less un-nerving once I work what shape it should be and out how to go about it :)

Tini'sNewHair the stretch thing surprised me too. I do wonder if I cut it short and didn't abuse it if I might actually have some quite tight curls, my Dad's did when he was younger and my hair is much closer to his colour than my Mum's. All I remember about having short hair was that it was triangular and I hated it. On a good day my ends go into ringlets. Liking trimming would be very different for me :D I agree I think taking it in small stages would be best. I don't think I have said yet, but have been thinking, your hair looks amazing. It looks so thick at every length. I guess that is good inspiration for trimming :)

stachelbeere Yay for some growth at last :D I've got two theories, it has been lovely weather here and my part of the country has been hottest so maybe that has helped. The other is I have been making a real effort at exercising. I have been doing 45 minutes a day on an elliptical trainer. I really have been very bad practically no exercise before this, so maybe it has helped?

I do S&D. Probably about waist length it became completely unmanageable if I didn't. It makes such a difference to me, it is the difference between being able to comb my hair and not. I should be on more of a regular schedule with it, but what usually happens if I do quite a lot of a couple of weeks. Then I will slack off for a few weeks or months. I would imagine that if you had my hair you might find it intolerable even with S&D, I have probably let it go further than most people would. But even so, if you don't S&D and wanted to try it, you might find you could go longer without having the urge to trim.

I am glad you are happy with your trim. I do envy your tangle-free-ness :) I think clarifying and chelating can make a big difference to how long you can push it. I find chelating particularly effective when it comes to tangles. I don't have nice water here, it stains the tiles pink after a while, so something is not right about it. That's interesting to note you cut more than you thought you would even with a self trim. I have cut a few other peoples hair and noticed it was hard not to cut more than I intended. Having never attempted a self trim I wasn't sure if the same thing would be true.

I think exercise has a huge impact on growth and your recent progress shows that :) Do you usually wear your hair up to protect it? I really hope you'll reach TBL un-stretched! And I also have some experience with water hardness in the UK, hehe. My boyfriend lives in the Thames Valley and, wow, if I didn't do acidic rinses after every wash, I'm not too sure how I'd be able to detangle my hair!

There is something I am going to try out this month - the weather here has been much warmer and nicer and there isn't so much smog around (I live in a city where the air pollution level is shockingly one of the highest in Europe). So I'm going to spend more time outside/ let more fresh air inside. I bought quiet a lot of potted daisies last month and I noticed that the ones I kept in my apartment close to the window were in a really poor condition - their colour even faded! Whereas the ones I keep outside are flourishing. Now I know I'm not a plant... but (somewhat) fresh air and spending more time outside is always a good idea and it's worth a try :)

As for my trim - I think another one of my goals (apart from longer hair) is to have a nice and thick hemline. I think it's different with my hair, which is pin straight, it just doesn't look as nice when the hemline isn't shaped into a U or V. It's quiet the opposite for you curlies. My sister has very fine 2c/3a-ish, SL/CBL hair and she doesn't really need a hemline because the curls form however they want and it looks so pretty.

I was a bit unkind to my hair last month as I tried out honey lightening twice which dried my hair out quiet a bit. Sadly it didn't really have any visible effect. I also noticed that by using the tangle teezer, which is actually a great tool, I started being a little bit less carful when detangling my hair so I started using a wooden comb again which was serving me quiet well in th past. I occasionally S&D also.

Everyone looks great! I just started taking my growth seriously a few days ago ;) but I got my length shot for this month. I don't follow all of the "rules" (I can't do the camera timer at my new place, nor am I wearing stripes, etc.), but I'll wear the same dress with a belt cinched at waist, which is my goal length for the next year. :) I'm amazed at some progress I've seen in this thread-- shoulder to waist in a year?! *cough cough Tini!* is that normal?!-- so you've given me new hope that I can reach my goal, after all. (I'm currently between APL and BSL.)

Just for my own information so I remember, I took this month's length shot with second-day hair that has not been messed with in any way except combing and finger-twirling. It would, of course, look shorter if I wore it curly, but I'm happy wearing it straight lately! :)

I'll post this month's pic and next month's pic in mid-May. Hopefully there will be some growth! :)

hoponasu - hemline looks amazing!! When will you stop maintaining? (sorry if i asked you this before)

stachelbeere crazy how different we all are in length - hip on me is about 83cm so just a lil over 33 inches as well :( dont worry, i will be keeping you company - I think I want to stop there to maintain for a while because stopping at waist feels way to short.

Join in Annibelle!! It took me two years from shoulder to waist tho but only a year from APL to Waist - hmmm I think i have had my stalled moments for sure like getting passed shoulder was my biggest one. Wishing you lots of growth!!!! :)

Lostsoule77  Looking forward to your shots :)

Welcome xoChesleyy !!!!

Rosa Harris It is difficult to see your growth because you are to close to your camera so not all of your length is showing - I recommend that you position your body a lot further away. Congrats on your growth anyway, looks like you have a very pretty fairy-tale hemline :)

Congrats askan, that logo is getting more and more covered up each month :) such luscious locks!!

Fingers crossed you get a lot more than that LLL :) Im slowly growing over 30 inches... so exciting!!!! Feels like ive been in the 20something inches for a lifetime - phew!

Tini'sNewHair, thank you! In my hairtyping photos my hemline looked awful, like it got a really bad hair cut but I think it was only because I let it air dry without leave-ins and brushing. I'm thinking to stop maintaining now and let it grow. I'm eager to see more growth!

hoponasu I like your hairtyping photo, what a difference! Your hair looks great no matter what you do tho. I dont see why you can stop now, you can always maintain again at another milestone :) Ive decided to stop at hip for a little while because waist feels to short.

Tini, my goal was to grow my hair to waist too but this doesn't feel long at all! I'm going to grow it waist at front too, it'll be hip-ish then.
Oh I know! It's such a mess when it's unbrushed. And when it's brushed there's barely any waves at all.

Well, here is this month, and the comparison shot. I came out at 41.5 inches again this month, but I can see growth, so I suspect it's a longer 41.5 inches than last month's! I got my husband to measure twice, but it was the same result.

Cinnabun waves again today.

A little late posting this month. I took this picture on the 5th, which is my normal date. I just hadn't gotten around to posting yet. Been a crazy month around here. The first pic is from January, the second is from last month, and the last is this month. Looks like I'm still steadily gaining a whole blue stripe and part of a white stripe every month. I measured my hair the other day in in the 6.5 months since I cut my hair to SL I've gained 5.25-5.5 inches. So I'm moving along at a pretty good clip.

Ok. Here is mine for the month! and I'M SORRY that I changed my shirt again lol I feel better about using shirts with logos/signs on the back than with stripes. It feels more accurate to me since I know this kind of shirt isn't going to shrink up or look uneven like my striped shirt would. So to help see my progress I lined my elbows to see approximately how much has grown.

Tomorrow is the big picture/measure day for me. Yesterday I was at my physical therapy and had my hair down because I had just showered and wanted to let it dry as long as possible. So, it was damp-dry by the time I got to PT. My PT asked me to turn around so she could see my hips and so I said, "While you are back there, and since my hair is down, does it reach the top of my iliac crest yet?" (She knows I'm growing my hair long and I'm super excited about any progress I'm making.) She said YES, I am definitely to the top of my hips! So, I may have been drawing my lines in the wrong place all this time. Tomorrow I will get to see for myself. I'm definitely doing a hands-on-hip picture so it's easier to see. I'm so eager for tomorrow to get here so I can see my length!

My official growth picture day is 19th because one day in last Fall I just decided to take a picture of my hair and it just happened to be 19th. So I made 19th my official pic day. I don't think there's nothing special in that date you take a photo, it's just randomized.

LLL Thats very exciting news, I could see even on your photo on fb that you are getting so so close to hip, if your head wasnt leaning at an angle and you stood straight i could swear that you WERE at hip already.

Tini[/B] 172 cm is about 5 feet 6 inches but when you put 5 1/2 we might assume you mean 5 feet and half an inch (even though 5 1/2 feet makes sense) :)
172 is almost 5'8~ Im 171 or almost 5'7 1/2

Hello, this is my monthly update.
Last month's pic
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn256/angel_corpse_album/631d3f36-f697-4600-9feb-3e5186184b64_zps9de6ce0d.jpg

It's actually shorter than last month because i had a 1,5 inch trim and got a U shaped hemline this month, though it's not very obvious because of my waves, my hair still grew though, i can see it by my roots. :)

Wonderful growth, everyone, i saw some pretty impressive growth pics back there.. Keep going further towards your goal!

Stray_mind} Thank you for the peppy words! Yes, it did grow, but as I cut it a little I don't know how much. :hmm: DBF helped comb it into place, so it was lying even straighter than usual too--less waves that shortened the length. :disco:

Short on time today, so I don't get to browse through the thread and see all the wonderful heads of hair, but I wanted to get my photos up. My measuring tape says that I'm at 31.25" which is a mere .25" growth, but I think the photos show more growth than that. Could be wishful thinking, but I'm fine with being delusional, lol!

Here's a collage of this month's photos, including one with hands on hips. Did I make it to hip? The action shot looks longer because my head was slightly tilted back.

Hi everyone, can I join in here? I'm trying to keep myself motivated not to trim, as I have an uneven hemline (I think one side is just more wavy or something) and my hair seems to be growing outwards instead of downwards at the moment!

Anyway, here we are to start off... 1 white + 1 black stripe = 0.75", so I have about 2" to go on the straighter side and 2.5" on the wavy side(!) Goal is waist, with a while at BSL to trim layers, but really APL by end of summer would be fabulous :knit:

But I do see growth!:D (I did cut it this month, but just a very very little bit) My hair wasnt really behaving in the last picture, as it came out of a bun, and wanted to go in every other direction but down.

SOOO jealous, does it FEEL long now LLL? I cant wait to get to hip, that’s where I consider to be the start of long hair  Oh you'll be here in about a week, with your amazing growth rate, Tini. It definitely doesn't feel too long yet. I have certainly not reached my minimum length. When I look at it in the pictures, I think it is just entering the zone of wow-length hair, but when I'm just living my life it doesn't feel like anything spectacular yet. I rarely wear it down, but when I do, it's not noticed by strangers in public yet. I think TBL will be that length where people really notice, and I will feel like I'm a super-length. That's why I've chosen TBL as a maintenance length, and plan on sitting there between 6-12 months while I allow some face framing bits to catch up and freshen up my hemline a bit. It's a length that will definitely be wow to me. Not many people have TBL hair outside of online hair forums. The way I'll be maintaining is to cut half my growth, so I could creep up on classic without really trying, and that would be really awesome. Classic length is truly amazing length! Anything beyond that is just, well, :thud: for lack of a better description.

No, I just applyed a regular hair dye :) the colour is this one! http://www.dottorcattaneo.it/public/prodotti/hires/Shine-On-Castano-Mogano-num-45.jpg but I don't know if the brand of this dye exists in your country :( I think the thing that made it look like that was the mask I found in the box, but I think that any kind of mask/conditioner that works well on your hair might work :)

I forgot to open the door behind me, so my May picture's background doesn't match the rest, oh well lol. Im feeling really good about getting out of "pixie/bob territory" .. Im finally at shoulder! But I can tell I desperately need a trim, my ends are ridiculously thin and I still have some layers to even out (theres a layer thats only just now hit the bottom of my ear), but I am way too nervous about getting a trim. Not sure how to self-trim hair this short though =/

I would imagine that if you do a low ponytail, tilt your head down and then trim the tiniest bit off the ponytail, you would end up with a blunt instead of A-line cut in back. Then you could even up the sides by using your back pieces as a guide. I'm not a stylist and have never tried this myself, but in my mind I think it would work. If you ponytail and you don't tilt your head down before you cut, you will end up with an A-line bob. Great growth, by the way. Now you can ponytail at last!

You look to have grown a lot; I never would have guessed that you trimmed some of the growth, for the length gain you have had. But the thickness and quality of hair at the hemline looks better, healthier, so I believe you when you say you trimmed.

Arwenlily, what a beautiful head of hair you have! You did a great job with the trim, it looks even to me.

patienceneeded, I've always loved your hair! Great growth, congrats!

Johannah, fabulous growth and loved the way you aligned all your pics! I'll always remember you with fondness cause you were kind enough to upload my pic when I didn't have a clue how to do it. Thanks a ton! Btw, your sig pic is great, amazing difference between Sept '13 and now.

arihS No need to worry about uneven pictures at all, your dresses markers/design shows it all very clearly :) Congrats on such an impressive growth!

Haha totally agreed LLL!!! Your hair does look long in your pictures :) I decided to maybe stop for a little bit to trim at hip thinking that THATS where it will FEEL long but from what you said, that may not be it either haha And i agree that TBL will most deffinatly feel long. I haven’t been there since i was a child! And thank you!

Iulana Congrats on your growth!!!

duchess67 Only by a tinny wee bit!! How much did you trim? Your hair must of caught up with that pretty fast!

NuclearApply I think that you have your head tilted back a lot more in your recent photo BUT even so, I can tell you've had lots of growth. Your hair looks amazing! Your new hair colour makes your hair shine and look very luscious!

Heavy Raindrops Congrats on your growth, you have grown so much! I really like the way you marked the stripes so its easier to tell.

Arwenlily congrats on your growth! Your hemline looks really good!!

Hi all, didn't update last month, because the charger to my camera battery decided to play hide and seek for a while, found it just a couple days ago

So here is my update with all the monthly pics since January.
Just done a a major S&D on the last 10-15 inches of my hair, so I have lost a bit of thickness and a bit of length, but its so much healthier and feeling so much softer and shinier and much most easy to detangle. :)

Everyone's growth looks great :).

Here is mine for the month, I used Tini's trick of a book on my head, seems it really made a difference. I think I have consistently been tilting my head forward and standing crooked, the book fixed that. I did have decent growth this month, but not as phenomenal as it seems, this is second day hair, it is never as wavy as freshly washed.

Thank you Lulu :o. The place where I take those length makes my color look odd I think, but it has a consistent place to set my camera and for me to stand, so I deal with it.
I am just touching APL (yeah for progress ;) ) with the longest part of my hair on most days, really wavy days not as much. I'm gonna give it another month to hopefully get there more solidly.

Wow you gals are the bestest cheerleaders eva :cheer:

Yes it is growing but those silly layers I cut in around Sept last year are doing me no favours. I am not a fan of blunt hemlines (no offense to those with one) as I really like the 'v' shape. Seems I may have to compromise and maybe settle on a soft 'u' instead, otherwise I risk my hair looking too thin FOREVER

As for the DE, I sprinkle it in a cup of Rooibos tea and swish it around then scull, being mindful not to grind any grit into my teeth. :)

It sticks on and it´s hard to shake!!!!! Well, at least you are past waist already and didn´t get the taste before....microtrim is a good option (the way I solved it too for now) so the ends feel great! The hair feels as new! But it stays the same.
