Annd this is today (don't mind the dorky glasses please)

So, what do you think?
When I look at the pictures I feel I am making a lot of progress, but of course it never can go fast enough as I regret my cut so much.
This is what I had before I chopped:

The ends were crap, but really I can't believe I didn't just trim instead of hack it off out of sheer frustration.
Anyhoo, I can't wait to get back to that length! I hope to make it in two and a half years, but it's hard due to millions of layers.
I will try not to cut my mullet untill at least the bulk of my hair is past shoulder however.

I'm not sure if it's a lot of growth for how much time has passed by, but you're definitely making progress! Don't worry, you're not the only one regretting a big chop around here. I went from CBL to a pixie the same length as yours minus the shaved sides, my chop was in May. I regret it but it had to be done to remove dye and damage and start fresh. If you can stand the mullet until shoulder, then more power to you, but I can't stand it lol. I've had 3 mullet trims since May and the back is still a half inch longer than the sides, but it's close enough. I'm gonna start a 2014 Monthly Picture thread on Christmas, you should totally join it and show off your progress over the next year! =)

Unless you measure it it's hard to tell if it would be considered fast or not. We're all probably going to have different opinions on it too, I would say it *looks* like an average amount of growth for the amount of time it's been since your cut but I could be totally wrong lol. I think average is between 1/4-1/2" a month or something like that. You can definitely see a lot of progress though!

It's hard to tell from the picture, but if your growth is average (like mine), you'll make 1/2" of hair a month; so should have 1 1/4" of new growth? I had one "tail-ectomy" right before my May2012 siggy, when it was trimmed up to my hairline in the back, then just grew it out. There is no shame in trimming if you want to. Because you have such disparity between the sides and top, you may need to eventually. (FWIW, I really like that edgy "frustration" pixie. Very eye-catching! Especially with that bright color.)

Haha thanks Browneyedsusan, I really liked it at first too. I chopped it to shoulder first and after two weeks decided to do the pixie anyway, so I thought I had a good decision there. I guess there really isn't any way to know untill you actually do it, but up until now I eventually regret every big chop I've made.
I've started taking biotin since a few days and done the monstat thing last month but stopped due to headache.
I hope biotin will help speed things up, I used to get faster than average growth, a few years ago, so I hope I can get this now as it would be so nice to at least be able to wear a bun!
