I put this item in my cart but haven't bought it yet. Has anyone had any experience with it. It sounds like it is similar to the M-T-G stuff with sulfur in it because it contains Horsetail and says to shake well before using.
The first ingredient is mineral oil.
I'm tempted to try this stuff but thought I'd check with my member friends before I buy (it's about $6.00)
What do you think?????
Thank you.

I went ahead and ordered it. I didn't spell the name correctly in the subject header, Its Doo Gro. Anyway I'll try it and report my results, if I can find this thread in a few weeks!

I have the doo grow in the cold cream jar. I think it's the medicated one but I'm not sure. It's packed away in my items. I liked it. The key is to barely put it on I put my on my scalp and rub in. The scent is strong as I recall.

Never tried it. My initial thoughts are "snake oil", but it's worth a shot, right?
Also, fixed your title for you. :flower:

The Doo Gro has arrived and within minutes it was in my hair and massaged into my scalp! It smells wonderful. It is very oily, of course, it's an oil! I can't imagine using it as a leave in with my fine thin straggly hair though! So I'm using it right now as a deep oil treatment, without heating it up first (not recommended per label).
I'm going to shampoo it out after it's been in my hair about an hour. I'll report my results. *sigh* what will I NOT do to get nice hair????????

Interesting! Do you have the full ingredient list?
I don't think I could use anything with that much oil on my scalp unless I'm going to be using it as a prewash treatment.
Do you intend to use it nightly?

I shampooed it out after about an hour of having it on my scalp and hair. I used a bbb to brush it in thoroughly. It was not hard to wash out. Some reviews complained about it being hard to remove but I found it easier to wash out than olive oil.
This could just be a coincidence, but I shed about 5 hairs during the shower instead of what I've been shedding lately, about 20-50 per shower! I haven't shed this tiny amount in months.
After I shampooed through twice, as usual, I felt like I didn't need to use conditioner. My hair felt clean but not overly squeaky and matted clean. I decided to use a little diluted conditioner on the ends only.
I rubbed 3 drops of the oil on my palms and then scrunched it only my ends. Since it's mostly mineral oil I wanted to see if it would reduce static.
While wet my hair was no different. I air dried.
My hair was so smooth and slippy today my front pieces of hair slipped out of my Flexi-8. My hair is soft and shiny and it was already but now even more so. When I hold a handful of hair up, like to look at the ends, the hair hangs limp. Normally my hair would be more stiff. I have much less static.
This oil would be perfect for someone with thick dry hair. Even so, I like how my hair feels. It looks even finer though because my hair lays flat and smooth, where if it's a little dry and static-y it can look fuller and thicker.
I'm going to use it again as a pre shampoo treatment for just an hour and not use a conditioner. I think because it's mostly mineral oil that it won't build up and may even help clean any old residues when I massage it into my scalp and hair. This might mean no need to clarify, ever.
Oh, you know that feeling like your scalp isn't exactly itchy but you really really want to brush it good, well, today I don't feel like that. My scalp feels happy being left alone.

I have this oil in my hair oil rotation. I'll often use just a few drops in jojoba, coconut or camellia oils just for the scent. I don't usually use it by itself since the scent is so strong to me. I do like it in my hair on it's own or with other oils since I have super dry curly hair.

I think I'm going to have to try it now, especially if it might help the almost scalp itch!

It is the second full day after using the oil and my hair has NOT gotten oily yet. I was wondering if my hair would start looking dirty more quickly like it does after using a super conditioner. For example if I use AOHR, it conditions so well that my hair gets oily/dirty looking after a couple of days.
So far it looks like I'm getting the conditioning, detangling, soft and shiny benefits without the early greasies that usually go with it. The anti static effect only lasted the first day though, but my house is very dry, probably less than 10% humidity and I struggle with static every winter.
I've put a couple of drops of the Doo Gro oil in my mister bottle. I haven't used it yet but I'm hoping that it will be good as anti static spray. The ingredients of the mister bottle is now: rosewater, regular water, aloe vera gel, argan oil and Doo Gro oil.

Just an update on my Doo Gro oil. I massage it into my scalp before every shampoo, leaving it on my scalp and in my hair for anywhere between 1 and 3 hours. I use a BBB to brush it in and distribute the oil and massage my scalp.
My shedding is still down to normal. I don't know if this is a result of the Doo Gro oil or just a coincidence. Since I've been using it I shed so much less. The name says it's a growth stimulator but I can't comment on that since I haven't taken any measurements.
Here is an example of how it has helped my shedding. Before: I take a shower and half way through I had to use my big toe to move the shed hairs away from the drain because so much hair was covering it the shower wasn't draining fast enough. I clean the dry hair out of the drain before each shower.
Now, after using this oil as a pre-shampoo treatment: I take a shower and I shed about 5 to 15 hairs only. I don't even have to clean the drain after each shower anymore but I do so I can keep an eye on the amount I'm shedding.
Everything else is the same, the pre shower brushing with a BBB, shower water temperature, diluted shampoos, same conditioners.
Between showers my brush doesn't fill with hair like it used to. I can run my hand through my hair and not end up with 10 or more hairs in my hand. I have a normal amount of shed hairs. Like I said, it could be a coincidence but the very first time I used this stuff my hair dramatically shed less.
Just wanted to share in case someone is shedding and wants to try it. It was about $6 or $7 at Sally's online.
Happy growing everyone!:)

I bought this stuff at walmart a couple weeks ago, and I actually just used it pre-poo on my hair and scalp tonight! I actually use it the same way you do, swearnsue. Im glad to see it helps with shedding, I haven't been paying close enough attention, but in general it's been making my hair nice and I like it. I use it for scalp massages but also put it in my hair like the instructions say before I shampoo, leaving it on for awhile, with coconut oil too sometimes, and it makes it soft. I read the bottle and it says it has some good ingredients in it, like sweet almond oil and some other ones I'm familar with but forget. I've been happy with it so far but it hasn't been long enough to notice improved growth since doing massages with the oil.
