Hair type change, or did I get it wrong?

I think I have just realised that my hair is a 1a and not the 1b I thought it was. My hair is very straight I think, but also very thick, so maybe I just saw the thickness as body volume? Not sure if it used to be different or I just typed it wrong when I wrote my profile 2 or so years ago, so is my hair a 1a, or a 1b?

There's a tiny flick at the end I guess, does it still count as 1a?

I would call it 1b since there is a bit of "movement" at the ends :)

I totally understand your uncertainty about your hair type! I am also a 1 but I have no idea what a 'body wave' which gives you volume is supposed to look like (as the 1b type is described in the hair typing thread) - I always assumed it'd mean that the roots have some natural lift to it rather than growing straight down not giving you any lift on top and some flicks at the ends. But then I saw pictures of other 1b people (also in the same thread) who actually had a few stretched waves and I wasn't sure anymore.

I don't really know how to 'read' the little flick at the ends, as your hair is generally pretty straight... maybe you're a 1a/1b ?

I would say 1a, there's no body wave in there. It looks like you flatironed it, and that's basically what a 1a looks like.

I'd say 1a, too. If the tiny flick is bothering you, you could maybe go for 1a/1b. But to my eye, it looks too straight for a 1b.

I agree with the 1a. Maybe it's just the way your hair dried that day that made the ends flick a bit? I know mine does that too.
