Yup, another hair typing thread! My routine has settled down enough that I finally got some typing shots today. Can't wait to get an official opinion - guessing based off descriptions and pictures, I come up with anything from 2a to 3a!

The line is at the top of hip length (dang bulky winter clothes hiding my thumbs!) I used some ancient Mane 'n' Tail for one wash a few weeks ago and got really curly, compared to normal - should have taken some pictures. :doh:I haven't used it since, except for a tiny dab of the conditioner as a leave in after rinsing out my other condish, but it looks like the curls are here to stay, though they've dissipated some.

I'm my own worst critic when it comes my hair's condition... what do you guys think? (huge picture).

I think it's a 2c/3a since it's pretty long yet it still has a decently tight curl/wave pattern.

Lovely, lovely hair! I'd second 2c /3a. More to 3a.

eta, I have zoomed in and actually I reckon you are 3a/ 3b. You have some ringlets as well as general spiral curls in there

Your hair seems pretty similar to mine. 2c/3a. I'd say you're closer to the 3a part of the spectrum though.

Hey guys! New and still learning- I saw in the profile when applying for access that they ask about hair types. How does one determine these things? Any help would be great!

Here's a link to the official hairtyping guide (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=116252) with descriptions and pictures. If you're still having trouble determining the type, just wash your hair as normal and let it air dry with as little touching as possible for proper typing photos. Clarifying helps, but isn't a requirement. :) Hth!

2c i think, when you look at the hairtyping pictures on NaturallyCurly.com it looks most like 2c. 3a in my opinion has more ringlets and spirals.

I'm pretty new at this hair type stuff (actually just asked on here what my type was a couple days ago). Looking at the photo guide in my opinion your hair looks most like the 2c/3a photo. Very pretty hair by the way. :)
