NEW PIC POST #80.

I did achieve my goal of classic length a couple of years ago
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c79/spidermom/splatterviolet.jpg (http://s25.photobucket.com/user/spidermom/media/splatterviolet.jpg.html)
but cut back 7 inches because of very bad, dried-out, snarly, and split to pieces ends that stuck together like Velcro. I've been trying to achieve classic length again ever since, but my ends would turn to Velcro around tailbone length and drive me to cut back. I did everything that I was willing to do to take good care of them, but finally I gave up.
I went from

tailbone last Friday morning to
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c79/spidermom/e156b5d6-0513-4faa-9e26-2c5ee3b46eec_zps7b1905a4.jpg (http://s25.photobucket.com/user/spidermom/media/e156b5d6-0513-4faa-9e26-2c5ee3b46eec_zps7b1905a4.jpg.html)
layered V that same Friday afternoon, which was better but not short enough to be a lot easier, so I went back to the stylist today (one week after the cut above) and came back with
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c79/spidermom/7965a880-704f-41b7-8206-f2300146a1ae_zpscb58aad2.jpg (http://s25.photobucket.com/user/spidermom/media/7965a880-704f-41b7-8206-f2300146a1ae_zpscb58aad2.jpg.html)
layered V at waist. My braced black thumb is at waist. (weird how the brace appears to be on the opposite arm in the mirrored picture, but it's the same one - left)

Wow, talk about light and easy to comb out. I love it! I don't know if I'll ever want to grow longer than this again.

I had about 8 inches cut off my hair a few months ago. Just got tired of it. Went from below waist to BSL. No one even noticed! But I think I will let it grow again because I can't get my hair sticks to stay in easily. I've been wearing barretts a lot.

Beautiful!
I think it looks great, and I'm so glad you like it!

I recently cut off 7 inches, and to be honest, I don't think most of my friends even noticed, but for me it made a big difference in terms of combing through my hair and being able to wear it down on a daily basis.

I hope you enjoy your new length and get to experiment great styles and wearing it down at this length. :) :flowers:

I have been having a lot of neck pain lately and I wonder if it is related to the weight of my hair. I trimmed about 3 inches off, and am still around finger tip. I have thought about going back to TB for a bit to see if it helps. I do miss waist. I think it is one of the most flattering lengths there is. It looks great on you.

No; the stylist blow-dried it, then DD used her curling iron on it later in the evening. It's the first time a curling iron has touched my hair in years. (she used protective spray)

That is some beautiful bouncy happy hair. It's lovely!:) I hope you will let us know, periodically, how you really like it, as you get used to life without your "drapery".:) In the sense that, people post about how their lives and habits change as their hair grows longer, what you feel about it being shorter.

You just have gorgeous hair! I love your hair in all the pics. The beautiful colour graduation in the first, the way it drapes in the second, your amazing TB 'V' as it looks in the third pic, reminds me of your 'U' cut which inspired the way I've shaped my own hair and now the waist length 'V' is equally beautiful.

Enjoy the new cut.

Bit redundant, but will chime in - your new cut looks healthy and very pretty.

Wondering, do you know what caused the problems with the ends when it was longer? Are you planning on maintaining this length, thereby having regular trims and being able to keep this from happening to your ends again?

Enjoy the ease of styling the shorter length!

Wow you have dream hair at waist length. I love the waves. Mine waves like that at shoulder length but when it gets longer I am sure I will lose it. That is why I proclaim 1c/2a. Also my hair is fine so the waves come out easily. Your hair is so incredibly pretty. Do you dye it or is that your natural hair because I don't see one gray strand. Just wondering because I love the color too.

I plan to grow mine to waist as I think that is such a nice length. I hope mine looks as good as yours does at that length. Did she put layers in there? Anyway, very pretty. Congrats. :)

Your post inspired me. I have been waffling about doing a chop. My neck has been hurting a lot lately. The Dr. said it is muscle pain, so I thought maybe the weight of my hair was contributing. I cut off about 3.5 inches, and was okay with that, but then bit the bullet and cut off almost 3 more a week later. I am back at classic, and my ends look terrific. I am glad, I was sitting on my hair even when in a braid, and buns were so painful. Plus my favorite buns were not working well for me. Now I can wear my hair down or in a braid without worry again! If my neck doesn't feel better soon, I may go all the way back to tailbone. I think that is the shortest I am willing to go for now.

Thanks everyone. I am happy that I inspired others who have been waffling about a haircut to go ahead and do it. Sometimes we regret the things we didn't do even more than we regret the things we did.

I don't really have gray; I have white and silver. It isn't very apparent these days because I had temporary copper color applied Aug 3. It was supposed to last 4 weeks but is still hanging in there and fading out gradually. I have lots of silver at the roots but am glad that there is no definite line like I'd get with permanent dye.

Oh, and yes, it is layered.
