Hi guys just looking for a bit of input here. My hair loves protein. Til now i've been using a LI with protein in it (Schwarzkopf Gliss) After experimenting though, I discovered that the reason my hair is piece-y on day 3 (I used to wash daily but now I'm stretching washes and wash on day 4, sometimes 5) is due to the LI as without any, my hair is much fresher looking and non-piecey on day 3.
My predicament: I've forgo-ed the LI twice now, and aside from a bit more frizz, my hair looks and feels the same (soft, smooth, slippy etc) To compensate for the lack of protein though, I want to be strict about doing coconut oil pre-wash treatments before wash days to prevent protein loss. I'm wondering, if piece-yness wasn't an issue, what would be best...using a proteiny LI after each wash, or preventing protein loss beforehand via a coconut oil treatment? Part of me thinks the ccoconut oil will compensate for not using a leave-in but what do you think?
