I had a spontaneous cut & color today !! (Photo)

I was done with work early & one of my best stylists (I own two salons) had a client call in sick at the last minute, so I told her my hair was irritating me & asked her to trim it. A trim evolved to refreshing my color and cutting off several inches and giving me even more layers - I'm in hair heaven. I never felt this way when my hair was TBL. I admire long hair on others and think it's beautiful, but I'm so relieved to not have it for myself anymore.

Long, short, in between - I'm wishing you all happy hair days !

I see if was an evolved spur of moment but do you what promoted it deep down?
Curious as I sometimes wonder if I will grow longer again after having such an ease with styling my shorter hair.

It looks the same to me as it did the last time you cut it, but it still looks good!

The last time I cut it, I was still growing out the a-line bob I had cut in February. Because of that cut, the bulk of my hair was still at a funny length in back and my ends were much thinner. Now that awkward length has finally gotten long enough that when I cut the 2.5/3 inches off yesterday, my thickness is in my ends again and it's a much more balanced "normal" cut. I don't have that weird shelf from the a-line. Loved that style but growing it out was a pain ! And I've never had my underneath colored a couple shades darker before, I'm really thinking it's pretty fun :)

I think deep down I knew that I was at an in between stage that was literally driving me nuts. I didn't like the shape of my hair but I was still growing it out from a much shorter style. I also really missed that shorter style - but I missed being able to pull the back of it up and off my neck even more.

Guess what? About an hour from now, I'll be in the stylist's chair again. Last time I went from blunt-cut at tailbone to a V-cut with layers ending at tailbone. I'm going shorter, longest point ending at waist this time. Or maybe even a little above. I'm so excited! I'm over the extra-long hair thing. It has become a pain to deal with; I want something easier that I can wash and curl or straighten without fretting so much over ruining my hair. Who knows? I might end up with hair as short as yours eventually.

Thanks, everyone !!!! I'm loving my darkness underneath so much that I am going to add a bit more and give myself a dark under layer of bangs as well. I'm going to do that later today and I think it will be really pretty and fun :)
