Corn silk extract???

It's an ingredient in Herbal Essences Hello Hydration conditioner, and I was wondering, is this a protein?

A quick google search told me that corn silk contains proteins.

I gathered as much, but I guess it's the word "extract" that throws me off a little. I mean, coconut has protein, but coconut oil doesn't have any at all. So I wasn't sure what "extract" would be comprised of. I suppose it could be mostly protein but I wasn't sure.
