Help!!! Hair style for semi formal f Christmas party

Hello everyone, this is my first post ever here. I figured you all would be able to help me out with my hairstyle. I have just found I will be attending a Christmas party for my husband's work. The attire is semi formal. The last party I attended was over 5 years ago which I had a pixie cut so hairstyle wasn't a big to-do. I now have waist length hair and don't know what is appropriate for semi formal. I will post pics later but to give you all an idea, my hair is about 25 inches long that is straightish with curl at the ends. I classify it as 2b-3a, depending on the day, medium/fine with medium thickness.

I really like the gibson tuck it's really simple and very pretty especially if you add a nice clip in the back.

OR Since this is semi formal maybe you can do a half up so you can show off your length and wow everyone!
