I have a big event coming up on Friday, but have no idea what I should do with my hair!:)
I can't decide if I want hair down or hair up,so feel free to post and suggest all kinds of styles. My hair is curly and I am not willing to straighten, but I am okay with a little teasing.

Would also like my hair it to compliment what I am going to wear ----) http://imgur.com/OnOUGHO /sorry for the weird face and for the cables at the bottom, the vacuum keeps pulling them out!

One more thing,it is probably going to rain on Friday.Too sleek updo's are going to frizz up :/

You have beautiful hair and my suggestion would be a side sweeping fishtale braid finished off with a matching satin ribbon that would compliment your lovely dress.

Raging Wolfs idea is wonderful! Fishtail braids = insta-glam!

Gibson tucks are always pretty but maybe a bit too "old" for you :) Either way I am certain you will be very pretty in the style you chose :)

I actually really, really like your hair down! It looks good with your dress!

I love the color, btw. Purple is fabulous :)

Hm, I don't know - your hair looks so good down that I think you should leave most of it down - unless the occasion is very very formal, but given the dress, I think you can do that, Maybe some sort of half-up with a braid or a flexi-8 just to show your forehead...

I was going to vote side fishtail braid too! Like this linky (http://www.pinterest.com/pin/95983035781731465/). An accent braid could be nice too like this linky (http://www.pinterest.com/pin/40321359135974032/). Or a half up with an interesting braided detail in the back, maybe even add a few small purple accents to match your dress, link here (http://www.pinterest.com/pin/174866398004124213/).

Have fun!

I think it does look nice down as well, but a braided style might be a little better if it's going to rain. I like the idea of a side fishbone braid with a couple smaller braids coming from the sides and being incorporated into it, like this. (http://31.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4jvlfyvwN1ro55udo1_500.jpg) Except yours would look more elegant due to your beautiful curly hair. :)

Thanks for the lovely suggestions and compliments, but keep them coming! (I mean, the suggestions! :D :o )

Fishtail braids sound great! Though,I have a bit of a complaint -it is a style that I would imagine goes frizzy easily.
A gibson tuck, sadly, doesn't hold in my hair and I need my hairdo it to be rock solid! I will be moving a lot.

Are there any specific hairstyles that don't usually go frizzy AND stay put? You could add onto those with some accent braids or a new hair accessory. :) Maybe a purple flower or some crystals like the kind in your dress?

Rock solid and not frizzy (from the do's that I know how to make) -Ropes. Cinnabuns. French braids,at least while still on the scalp. Braided buns remain magically frizz free for some reason too.
Hair down goes a bit frizzy and tangly, but it looks fairly ok.
I thought about what you wrote and tried a rose bun-ish something,it looks good, but I am not too sure about whether I want to wear my hair like that yet.
Would it be too much with crystals or flower, though? I think the dress is a lot on its own...

My current favorite would be the one I suggest to everyone. The bottom would only have a few inches of fall though.

It's also really easy to do and I belly dance in it.

What about a French twist? With or without a pouf at the front.
And I LOVE your dress! :)

A fishtail has about the same "frizz chance" as an English braid from my experience, so if you plan to move a lot or dance it's probably not the best idea to leave any braid down (unless your'e going for the messy look on purpose)... What about a bun made from a fishtail braid? Those tend to look very complicated and fancy, and a bun will be secure and protective while you move around :)

Seeshami's updo looks gorgeous too, a very beautiful and fancy looking updo :)

I second a braided bun :) maybe even with a rope braid. I'm thinking... :hmm: what if the twist in the rope braid gives it a little more durability against frizz ?

Seeshami Oh wow, that looked great.Similar to what I did with the rope braids.I hope I won't sound creepy like I am stalking you or what, but I always imagined that you have a deep strong voice and was very surprised when I heard you talk in the video.
Jenny,I'm searching for a video on how to do a french twist on hair like I have,I think it could look really nice if I styled my hair the CG method style, so that I have piecey defined curls.
Night_kitten,messy look is my default . I tend to get the feather duster look (the long rainbow one :D ) with braids.I saw a gorgeous updo when I googled fishtail braid, and it was done on what seemed like curly or curled hair.
freesia probably, also could be that rope braids are tighter by nature. At least I think so.They have to be tight-ish so that they don't unravel themselves.

I just did lace-fishtail braid on one side and french fishtail braid on the other. The laced one is a bit too loose for my liking, but the contrast of my normal hair and the fine lighter hair on my temples looks awesome in it.The french one is tighter so yeah.
I pinned those two sides together and ponytailed my hair with a lace rope braid and a pin.
I'm going to wear it today and see if it survives.

Have you ever done a crown braid? I think it would look awesome with your dress. It shouldn't frizz up much either, as no part of the braid will be moving around.

That is a gorgeous dress!

How about a vortex bun using three rope braids - that holds really well for me. If you want an interesting braid, try a rope braid but braid one of the strands into an English braid before doing the rope. That in a bun is hard as a rock for dancing/ headbanging.

Really like your style Seeshami.

Oh no no I have to sound like a sweet little girl or people aren't shocked when I tell them "Don't make me get the dirty box cutter"

Really like your style Seeshami.

Thank you!

Okay so this is what I did http://i.imgur.com/rOiK50h.jpg
I am still very tired,so I am just going to apologize that it is already a bit messy in this pic,but it lasted through the whole evening.
