I love the look of pincurls especially for when my hair is kinda dirty. It hides it. Anyways what are some ways to curl your hair with minimal to no damage

Rag curls are the softest way I know of to curl hair. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Bc7e8rAjrw

I can't say I've ever noticed damage from pin curls, but then I don't do them often. I guess if you were to pin curl your hair very often, you might get mechanical damage from the pins. Rag curls would be gentler on the hair, but I find that they don't turn out as curly or defined as pin curls do (on me, anyway).

I'd probably roll my head around and end up with pulling while I slept, which isn't good for hair. But if you're not prone to rolling around and flailing in your sleep, you'd probably do OK.

I put my sleep cap over them, and they come out fine.
I don't set them very often, though.
