Are you doing anything funky with your hair for Halloween? Or a wig or extensions or something even crazier? Show it off!

It wasn't for my halloween costume, but I did some nifty costume hair a bit ago. Check out this thread f (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=114553)or details. Here's a photo:

I'm going as Hipster Ariel (a little late to the meme, I know). I got some clip-in hair extensions, and I'm going to be dying them and my hair with Manic Panic this week.

I'm going to be Elphaba (from the musical Wicked), so that's just going to be a half-up with braid-waves. However, I AM going to be green and I'll have an awesome witch-hat.

The team of teachers I teach with are all going as zombies this year (Shawn of the Dead zombies, not Walking Dead or World War Z zombies). We're aiming for slightly lazy and apathetic zombies, but still lethal in large numbers.

For my hair I was going to add a decent amount of jojoba oil and go with the greasy look. I'll probably do a very messy braid and not pin back my chin-length bangs to make it messier. If nothing else, I'll get a decent all-day oil treatment out of the costume!

I'm going to be a cat from Cats (the musical), so I had to buy a wig and then cut, style and spray colour it. The grey colour turned out much darker than it was supposed to and the black isn't quite black, so instead of looking "tabby" it just looks like some sort of mottled dark grey... but other than that I'm actually pretty happy with it. :)

Not for Halloween but for Glastonbury 2013!

Me as Daenerys Targaryen :D I made the dress myself. The wig was tricky - this was a spontaneous costume and I found a white 'old man' wig which was super frizzy so I had to reform the curl pattern with hot water and loose rope braids. I also used the beard that came with the wig to have more and longer hair :)

Unfortunately this is the only good photo I have of this costume; I wish I had asked my boyfriend to take nice pictures of me on the day when I was wearing this and had the make up on, I felt great and I think it looked lovely.
I also made three dragon eggs which had bottles with gin & tonic inside, I have pictures of the eggs somewhere...shall I look for them? :o it was pretty awesome. I might wear this for Halloween - if I organise a party :)

PrincessBob- That is awesome! I think I saw a link to another picture of you with your "beard" and instantly thought of Gimli from Lord of the Rings =D

oatmealpie- Sounds cool! You should deff share a picture of it here when you do it!

Sharysa- Take a picture for us! Going green will be fun, hope you find a good makeup that doesn't it or flake, thats a lot of skin to cover.

patienceneeded- Thats a great idea! You'l look like a gooey nasty zombie, but itl be like a healthy fiesta for your hair. =P

Thithondiel- Yayy another cat, I never saw that musical when I was younger but, I always thought the costumes and makeup were amazing.

stachelbeere- That looks lovely. =) The wig works perfectly, even if it is a little windswept. ASOFAI is like my favorite book series. I kind of wanted to be Cersei Lannister, even though I hate her, but shes soooo pretty.

Yeah, I love the costumes and the make-up too! :)

Btw., I forgot to say so, but your make-up is awesome! And the extensions as well... they're perfect! :D

I made the tail for my costume today, which is also hair-related, I guess! :p It took me five hours from start to finish. Maybe I'll take photos of the wig and the tail tomorrow and post them here, if I remember (I'd do it now if it wasn't so late... I'm off to bed soon).

Here's my pre-attempt at a cheshire cat costume, with 6 cheap 3$ hair extensions from the Halloween section at Walmart. 3 White striped and 3 purple striped clip-in extensions. I do have cute ears on but I wanted to show off the extension lengths. They make me sooo jealous and impatient about my real hair growing. Urgggh.

I love the way you've done your Cheshire Cat grin, that's flipping awesome :D

Ooh, what cat are you? Jennyanydots? She's my favorite.

Ashflower, I also really love your sinister grin - it's great!

I went to one Halloween party as Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas, and then am going to another party as a Dia de Muertos candy skull character (my friend is doing my makeup something along these (http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/b1/97/12/b19712ff2abd64502df6b0ab6bbeb1a1.jpg)lines).
I'm thinking for this second party, I'll have my hair in a messy braided half-up with flowers tucked in it. :)

No, I'm Munkustrap, actually! Well, a female version of Munkustrap, I guess. :p

Here's what the wig looked like before I started working on it...

Here's what it looks like now (as you can see, I did a make-up test drive today):

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v117/Thinthondiel/munkustrap2.jpg

(ETA: Whoops... I used the top part of a pair of pantyhose as a wig cap, and I didn't tie the ends, so part of it stuck out from underneath the wig on one side... please ignore that! :p)

And this is the tail I made:

Oh, so cool! Thinthondiel, you look spot-on! Great job with the costume! The wig and tail are excellent, but the facepaint is really killer!

Depending on how my makeup turns out, I'll try to post it here. :)

This was last year's wind up doll. The curly braid bits are actually a wig/extension ring thing. http://i658.photobucket.com/albums/uu306/maegochan/IMG_5372.jpg (http://s658.photobucket.com/user/maegochan/media/IMG_5372.jpg.html)

This year I did Lady Rainicorn and managed to get all my knee length hair under that blond wig. Here's hoping I can do it again tomorrow for trick or treating with my nephew.

Unfortunately, Halloween has conspired against me because my makeup sponge has somehow VANISHED. I could deal with not finishing the hat, but no witch-hat OR green skin? *sadface* So I'm thinking up a backup costume of something 1940s/wartime-ish.

My halloween plans went out the window, its been raining nonstop all day. Had plans to take the BF and his little pirate trick-or-treating, but the rain just wouldn't let up. Bummer. At least I did the makeup once and got a picture of it.

I tried to make cat ears with my hair, but it was mostly unsuccessful.
