I've been thinking of applying hennindigo to my already dark hair but I'm scared. Please post your dark hair here.

My natural hair is dark brown. Here it is hennaed followed by an indigo gloss (indigo+conditioner)

I LOVE your hair, Almudena!! :D

Can't offer any pictures of my hair here, because I tried the hendigo thing and it just didn't stick, so I'm back to the chemicals.

Very pretty tones! It made your color richer. Lovely. I got pics in my avatar and profile, but I Don't think they will help. I'm a blondie! :)

My hair is henndigoed, but I have not done it in a year or so. I think the indigo part is fading. See my siggy, and more pics in my album.

Here's mine:

Henndigo can get very dark with multiple uses, which I didn't like. I've since started using henna and katam instead, it is a lighter, more natural brown for me to cover my grays:

This is the second day after my first henndigo - it oxidized a tad bit darker than this :) I looooove it.

I use a product called hennalucent bark brown. It is all natural 100% organic and list all ingredients. I have been very happy with it, you can look a my picture. My natural color is black with a few gray. It makes my gray light red and my hair brown very natural looking.

I really really really want to try hendigo too but have no idea where I could find indigo, the only shop I thought would sell it didn't have any, and I'd rather not order online. :( Guess I'll have to.

By the way, can you get a shade that's just dark brown and doesn't have any hints of red in it? In almost all of the pics in this thread there's at least a slight red hue there, too. Not saying it doesn't look good, cause it does :) Just not what I'd like to have in my hair at the moment.

I think I may try this, my hair is looking kind of blah colorwise these days, maybe this'll give a richer shade of brown to it?

mellie and almudena,

You have such gorgeous dark hair!!! Beautiful. Almudena, I love your waist-length V. You'd look so great in period gowns full of Victorian ruffles!!

I thought indigo was used to get a black look? I've been thinking about this for a while as I think I look really striking with black hair considering my milky pale skin and blue eyes. I don't like it enough to damage my hair with regular peroxide dyes though.

Indigo is used to darken the red straight henna will give you. This is my hendigo'ed hair, over dyed brown hair. The mix is 50/50 henna and indigo, I did the whole head twice and now am just doing roots as the color is just fine. The best way to know what you are going to get is strand test, everyone's hair is different and takes henna differently. Lots of how-tos on this site and hennaforhair, which is where I got my mix. Let us know what you decide to do. Oh, I love your sign on name, rusted angel! That is so pretty!

Henna and indigo makes hair so shiny. I would love to try indigo over my henna, but I have very fair skin and I am worried that I will look really washed out.
