So I haven't really washed my hair in a week, just applied some Shea Moisture Hair Mask, coconut oil to the ends, and having been wearing it in a braid daily. Haven't even used my tangle tamer. And I have been getting so many compliments on my hair. Probably 3 or more a day. If only people knew how icky my hair is right now LOL. When I care for it properly, no one says a word. Maybe this being lazy thing will grow on me. :p

Your hair is probably very shiny and healthy looking from the natural oils. Congrats!

It's called benign neglect here. Like others have stated its shiny from the coconut oil. When I started oiling I got a little carried away and thought it was gooey but others looked at it and saw shine.

As long as my hair is drenched in coconut oil and braided or bunned, it looks shiny. But once it's out, it just looks plain greasy and gross. I'm the only one who sees it in that state, though, so I don't care.

I love how people compliment me on my hair when I haven't washed it in over a week, then ask what I'm doing to it, then when I tell them they tell me my hair looks disgusting and oily and stringy.

haha! that is amazing. I love just letting my hair go; unfortunately, mine never looks remotely decent in that state (at least not before when bleached). Perhaps I can try this again and just neglect for awhile until my hair grows :)

I've been doing that too. I've been wearing the same two french braids for so long now...I just wake up in the morning and smooth it down with a comb. To lazy to take them out and wash it...

Left my hair for five days between washes and oiled it every day on the ends before putting it into a claw. My DS said "Mum your hair is gross!" time for a wash then! It felt lovely after I washed it but it was nice to leave it for a while too.

Since I started CO a couple of weeks ago I can stretch washes so much more, I'm on day 6 now..

I do this "benign" neglect thing all the time! If it works for you stick with it :)
