Before 2011, I treated my hair badly. Now, I will take an inch off every 6 months, because there are 4 whole inches of damage. What are your comments?

Pictures not working but if you want to try and grow out the damage sounds good.

I cut an inch every six months and have had good progress. I prevents snarls that cause breakage.

Try it and see if it works for you!

Sounds like a good idea. I'm going to have my mom micro-trim my hair once a month. She's really good at it, so I have no worries.

You need to use the URL of your picture, not the pictures name. Try tinypic, or photobucket ;)

I'm thinking that trimming some of your growth on a regular basis is a solid plan. You will still gain length, but you will also get rid of the damage reasonably quickly. I trimmed half my monthly growth for about a year to get rid of badly damaged hair as well as layers. It kept me from feeling like I was getting nowhere.

I think that's a great plan to get rid of damaged ends and keep the length.

I think I'll be doing something similar. Up till now I haven't been trimming at all for about two years and a half (except for S&D), but now that I'm close to my goal length it's about time to get rid of the heat damage on the lower part of my hair. It's not really noticeable except for sometimes on the ends, so I don't need to cut a lot at once.

I'm growing out layers and I microtrim 1/4 inch every 3 months- which adds up to an inch a year.:)

I'm really lazy, so I haven't even booked my appointment with the stylist I like yet XD!
