Hihi

My hair has been getting wavier/curlier as I get older, and I also have insecurities about the waviness of my hair...so I wanted to get it typed again, just to be safe.

Is it curly?

My question was, is there any way I can encourage these curls?
My hair is usuallly wavy on most days, but once in a while it'll form these really nice rings and curls, and I would adore for my hair to be like this all the time. It usually happens when I let it dry in low gravity situations: sleeping, or piled on top of my head, or in a loose braid.

Any idea what might be contributing?

It actually looks a lot like my hair typing picture: http://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p496/Lilith513/DSC_7964_5093.jpg. So I would say 2b (with your current routine at least). Have you tried The Curly girl method? Mine gets more wavy with water only, conditioner washing doesn't work for my scalp, and with shampoo it looks almost straight, so I wouldn't really know...

I think you might be 2C. If your hair is like mine, the spirals will be fully apparent by APL. My hair curled best if I washed/conditioned it before bed, finger-combed aloe vera gel with a very tiny dab of oil through my hair, then push my hair upward over the top of my pillow to sleep.

Now nothing but rollers will make my hair curl; the weight drags out even most of my waves. I have the straight hair that I always wanted! Too bad I'd rather have the curls.
