Ive been looking and looking for buns that I can put my BSL (when pulled straight) hair in and I'm a bit stuck! I got a disk bun to work perfectly today, it wasn't as pretty as it could be, but it held all day and looked good. I can't quite get an I infinity bun to work and a nautilus is way out of reach right now, lol! What other buns can I look into that might work? I'm going to need to start putting it up more at work as I'm a teacher and I can't be working with my kiddos with my hair in my way. :p

Thanks!

Have you tried a lazy wrap bun?

These are some styles that should work with BSL hair:

- Cinnabun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrM8JQR3sUE) (held with spin pins or hairsticks)

- Folded up braid (held with a claw clip)

- Roped vortex bun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DF5HXky3B8)

- Gibson tuck (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5JZOVnSjjE)

ETA: And here's a tutorial for the lazy wrap bun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTt771qkO24) mentioned above.

I'm at APL and I do sock buns, cinnabun, lazy wrap and the chinese bun.

French twist -- it looks awesome and holds perfectly all day long. Enjoy it now because it doesn't work as well with longer hair!

I did a weird infinity at that length. I had enough hair to make one wrap around my hand and then wrap around the bun and I would sort of split the wrap around my hand in half and make loops to slide a stick through. It would hold well. Sorry if that doesn't make sense.

The cameo bun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJWaDlcfd_Q) should work well, too. Gossamer's hair is insanely long, but she points out that you only need hair long enough to be able to wrap an accent braid around the outside of the bun once.

And I second Crumpet's french twist. I'm sad that I only discovered this style once my hair was too long to achieve it without getting an alien head effect.

I've just (finally) learnt to do a french twist - at just past fingertip. It can be done! (But then I quite like the alien head effect...)

I suggest: a not-bun - heidi braids or maiden braids. Just for something different.

If you only want buns, how about a braided cinnabun. Or, a rose bun (rope braid then make a cinnabun - spiral the bun one way for a nice spirally coiled effect, spiral the other way for a looser, softer look).

Have you tried a bun maker like hot buns hair deal.
