Why is my hair snapping?

I think my hair may be snapping from overmoisturising or over protein. I dont know which one it is, I wash my hair and then I use a cone free condish with has protien in it.

I use a moisturising leave in cream, which has protein and other things in it.

I ocassionaly oil the tips with EVOO.

But thats it, I dont know what causing the snapping though? It happens if I braid my hair, I hear some hairs snap if they are tangled.

Can anyone chime in?

I think it may be too much protein. I'm no expert but I would lay off the protein for a little while and see if that makes any difference. :)
