Are there any old threads / resources / photo collections of long hair gals with bangs? I have been all one length for so long and I think it is time to cut in some long bangs. It's either that or go all pixie on this 34" of frizzy madness.

One of the reasons I've avoided bangs, although I think they are good for my face shape, is that I know I will need to secure them a good amount of the time and I don't know the least damaging tools to do so without further damage.

In search of tools, photos, diy bangs cutting tutorials (maybe!), etc? Thanks! My hair type is 1c/M/ii.

I threw together this pinterest board with what I am liking. I included SJP because my face is a long oval with a big forehead too :P I said it.

If your hair is frizzy are you sure it's only 1c? That ight suggest to me a wave pattern in the 2s.

I did side bangs a few months ago, my bangs had never stayed in place years ago and would always fluff out and lay wherever they wanted to. So I was hesitant to get them again, but with age my hair has just started behaving and I now do not need to style the bangs, they just lay straight where they should be without heat or even combing. I started with super long bangs just so if I hated them I could easily grow them out, then decided I loved them and went shorter. I really like mine and never thought I would. I cut them myself. I could try and find a photo, if the forum lets me with only a couple posts so far.

yeah, as it has gotten longer and my care pattern has gotten more 'natural' there is a bit of wave, esp around the crown. plus it has been humid here and I am in dire need of an s & d mission. Honestly I haven't really analyzed my type in over a year ...

Thanks, Rose, that is what I was hoping for. I think I can try it myself, I just found a simple video that shows how to do a "u shape" to make longer side swept bangs.

If you start wearing your hair wavy (eg. Curly Girl method) the wave pattern can get stronger with time and the right products anyway, so a typing is an indication but not necessarily the final result. You might try working with the waves and, if you like it, go for a curly specialist haircut so any bangs/ face framing layers work with your wave pattern?

Oh yeah I know what the U is! I do the twist method, I twist them over twice before cutting because I'm right handed and I like the bangs on my left side. If you like the bangs on your right twist once. If that makes no sense just search it on youtube, they explain it much better than I do.
