I just bought some borage seed oil, and it has a rather foul scent, not unlike bad fish or a sewage spill. It's probably rancid, but I know oils can have some funky smells, so before I contact the company and send it back, I'd like to know what it is supposed to smell like when it's fresh. The internet hasn't been much help as people describe the scent in various ways; some people say, "slightly sweet" other say "mellow" some people just say it smells bad. Does anyone have experience with borage seed oil? Do you know what fresh borage seed oil smells like?
