Comet or Knot bun

Hi everyone -

I am looking for a tutorial on the comet or knot bun and am having no luck finding one. This is the bun that looks similar to a sock bun with a tail coming out of the middle (or at least that's what it looks like to me!)

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I did something similar last night by twisting a section of hair in what was basically a cinnabun around the rest of my hair and pinning it.

A comet bun is literally an overhand knot tied in your hair, so the tail comes out the middle. You can pin it to keep it in place. Make it by wrapping your pony tail around your hand and pulling the ends through, like you're tying a knot in string.

A knot bun in pretty much the same, but instead of letting the tail hand loose, you wrap it around the base and pin it.
