View Full Version : Hair typing please

I had curly hair as a teenager and I'm really curious what was my hair type then. I'm thinking 3b, but I would love some confirmation or different opinion.

It's not clarified, shampooing just gave me a bunch of frizz and no curls. Curls are enhanced to maximum here, with sea water/or only washed with water after swimming plus some gel (I couldn't just shampoo it, I loved the texture). Ignore the taper and messiness please.;)

Close up (still looks quite frizzy):

I'd say 3b because they are bouncy ringlets and aren't quite corkscrew curls. Beautiful hair, BTW!

I would go with 3b with a spattering of 3c curls. They would probably tighten up some if they were held by some product. But, gah, look at your shine! So shiny!

I was thinking 3a, even 2c because of the waviness in certain places.

I agree. Your curls are too spread out to be 3C hair, women with 3C hair have more curl shrinkage. It's also too loose to be 3B hair because your curl circumference is larger than a sharpie.

I think the canopy is curlier, and under layer wavier (It's similar now that I have wavy hair, the canopy is wavier than under layer). I had quite damaged hair back then, and it looks like the wavier, longer parts are actually under layer, since the canopy was to damaged to reach that length. :hmm:

I agree that it's not 3c, but it doesn't look loose enough for 3a IMO. Maybe the under layer could be 2c then and canopy 3a/3b.:hmm:

That could possibly be it!
