Hi everyone. I'm going to a 1940s murder mystery next week and need some ideas for how to style my hair! I've seen plenty of videos on YouTube however I have very thick waist length hair and not too sure if any of them will hold well. Can anyone recommend a style or tutorial to try? preferably ones that don't use a truck load of pins (I don't mind using a little heat styling) also any hair piece/clips/hat ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

1940s look was mostly about short-ish hair (around shoulder-length) with well defined big smooth curls.
But there were some beautiful iconic looks for longer hair, too. Check out styles on Eva Peron and Rita Hayworth.

You can search FordQueens channel on Youtube - she has plenty of vintage hairstyles for long hair.
Or do victory rolls or faux victory rolls. Once you get the hang of them, they're fast and easy. :)

Victory rolls are neat.
