Help! The hair on my canopy is much shorter than the back lower layers.

The hair on the top (canopy) seems to be at much shorter levels to the bottom part so it looks stringy and thinner. What can I do to make it less obvious? I think it is because I started wearing a sleep mask and the electric strap rubs against the back part of my head at night and breaks off the top layers or weakens them (I have replaced it with one that is not so tight). Also, my hair is frizzy because I just washed it and the hair on the right looks weird because my husband took the photo at a weird angle.

Do you wear a hair bonnet to sleep in? It might help with the mechanical damage from the strap.

I wanted to suggest the same thing : a silk bonnet under the strap.
