I want the benefits of henna without the change of colour. So I'm thinking of trying Cassia. I found this one on Amazon and just wanted a bit of input. I've never used cassia before, does it look ok? Also, will cassia add shine?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003TNIWQ4/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A35SEJIFLITV9L

Thanks in advance!

Eta: I did a quick search and apparently cassia can dry hair out? I thought it had the opposite effect ...

Since the Amazon listing didn't have an ingredient list I looked on the Khadi website and it looks like it is 100% Cassia (which is good). There was also a discussion on the Khadi brand here: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/archive/index.php/t-99989.html
I hope that helps.

100% cassia is good, and yes, it will definitely add shine! As far as color change, it depends on what your starting color is and what you mix it with. My hair is a medium ash blonde and if I mix it with something acidic, I get more of a golden tone. If I use only distilled water, I don't get much noticeable change. Once I made the mistake of mixing it with catnip tea and tap water and I wound up with light neon green undertones! shudder: Lighter hair will be more susceptible to staining. Do follow cassia with a deep conditioning or moisture treatment - it is coating, strengthening, and conditioning, but your hair may freak out at first and be tangly. I always notice the best effects from cassia with the second conditioning after mud application. :flower:

Have fun! :)
