Fun! My signature picture shows my henna over lots of bleached blonde highlights, with the underneath a natural medium brown.

I will be following this one. Since I am blond now and have considered trying henna for quite a while.

i have about 6 inches of ash brown hair and the rest is very bleached. it's all hennaed, so you can see how the henna shows up on the brown hair versus the blond hair.

Very ugly on me - blazing orange-red in the sun, brick out of the sun. Plus henna dried it out and made it brittle.

Me too. I have thought this so often.

Dajanchen's hair color is to die for. I love it. :crush: There's also another lady with a similar hair color who henna'd but I can't remember her username. Also totally gorgeous hair. She made a thread about it. Can't remember! :dizzy: :brickwall

Raingirl is also very light blonde naturally, and used henna.

ETA: Got it! It was maskedrose!

Gah. All such beautiful hair either blonde or henna'd. :thud:

Sadly totally unattainable for me unless I bleach first.

Plus henna dried it out and made it brittle.

Apparently something that's not as common, but I admit my hair was a lot more porous and weathered with henna over it.

Beautiful hair! I just love how henna looks on darker hair, in my opinion it's easier to make it look natural. Blonde hair makes henna look very bright, at least in my case, and can sometimes look a bit fake because of that. And it is hard when the roots come in, it seems like I'm going bald!

This is my hair before and after henna. I just did one application so far!

That's beautiful, Kohinoor! Both colors. Your henna'd color is very similar to my son's natural red hair. He has white blond strands mixed in with bright copper.

Thanks a lot! Your son is really lucky then MsBubbles, I just feel that natural red hair usually has a tiny bit more brown in it, that's what I hope to achieve somehow with henna. I'm looking into adding amla powder, and I have amla oil right here so I'm just going to test if that would make my hair a bit more brownish, even if it only last for a couple of days. I hope someone here has experience with that!

I'm sorry but I have to disagree. Your hair looks very beautiful and natural, it's the colour I consider to be the one of a 'true' redhead. So far I've only met two sisters with that colour and it's them I take as a reference when I think of a real redhead. I guess people with auburn, strawberry blonde, etc can call themselves redheads but henna on brown hair seems less bright and too dark to look 'real'. This is the hair colour I'd like to have if I ever used henna, not the auburn or cherry one. (Never gonna happen, though as my hair is very dark :p)

Kohinoor, I have said it before and I will say it again. Your hair is absolutely amazing with henna, I just wish my hair was light enough to get that vivid colour.

This is good to hear! Maybe I just havent met the right redheads yet.. Most people with red hair over here are more of a strawberry blonde or brown with some red in it.

And thanks again Isilme! :) your hair looks so lovely, I hope mine will ever become that thick!

Thank you for your compliments. I've used just the cheap henna I can buy at some local supermarkets. It's Iranian and packaged in Russia. It was quite orangey at first, especially the glosses I did before my first full application. But I've done some 5 or 6 full applications so far and some additional glosses, so it's much darker now. I usually make it with hibiscus or oolong tea and lavender essential oil, maybe add a little conditioner or oil. Approximately 4 hours for dye release and another 4 on my head. None of the pictures are in the sun, though. There the colour is a warm medium red, a bit brownish. This henna washes out a bit on me, but I suppose that's because of the low quality.

This picture is taken outside in direct sunshine and my hair has been freshly hennaed just couple days ago. It's a really nice colour, but it doesn't look like that without the sun. :)

This is how my hair usually looks inside and in poor light. The picture was taken when I hadn't dyed my hair in couple of months, so my hair looks pretty lifeless. Some people say that henna never fades out, but mine does! When I dye my hair, I always apply henna to my whole head. Otherwise the lengths would look worn out compared to the freshly dyed roots.

It was really hard to find pictures that showed my hair color in a realistic way. Henna looks very different in different situations. My hair can look orange, bright red, burgundy, copper, and even brown!

I don't have any pictures of my natural hair color, but I would Sigrid Agren's hair looks pretty similar to my natural color:

http://www.measurementshub.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Sigrid-Agren-Bra-Size.jpg
Darker from the roots, and the lengths were always bleached by the sun. I've been dying my hair for the past 10 years now, so it's possible my natural hair color has darkened since that.

My hair is naturally dark blonde, but I've been lightening it over the past year to a level 9. I decided to go for a carrot shade by using a 3:1 conditioner/henna gloss...

I saw someone mention my name back there. ;) Just browsing through my photobucket account, here are a few pictures for you. Sorry they are big but Photobucket isn't letting me crop or edit any photos at the moment.

Here's a pic of my natural colour, which is very light blonde (that's 100% natural, the only thing might be natural lightening from the sun):

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s183/ZekwinFallout/4C3ACCD6-179F-4B9F-AABD-9F1D3A4CAF72-1715-000001A000D6C9FA_zpsfe8c0a84.jpg (http://s152.photobucket.com/user/ZekwinFallout/media/4C3ACCD6-179F-4B9F-AABD-9F1D3A4CAF72-1715-000001A000D6C9FA_zpsfe8c0a84.jpg.html)

Here is mine after a few henna applications (used it for about 6 months):

I'm growing it back out now though, so here's a bonus two tone picture from my sister's wedding in June:

I figured this might be a good place to ask the blondies!

I have vitiligo on my scalp so I have a few white patches. I didn't even think about them when I decided to henna. The rest of my hair is a really nice strawberry blond, but my white patches are bright orange. Has anyone tried bleaching henna off of white hair? or is there anything else I can do?

massivecnqstdr
August 7th, 2013, 10:54 PM
Hmm, anything you change in your mix won't just affect the white hair obviously, but it might be good to use a mix with a smidge of indigo in it. You can try to bleach it, but its unusual to get henna'd hair back to its total original state, so it seems like with white hair it would be noticeable. You let it oxidize for a few days, right?

Yes, and it is still very copper. And for some reason, it didn't take all the way down. Just the top half
