I just recently trimmed the top of my hair and realized I could see through the 'curly poof' I wear on the top of my head. Is there some kind of something I can do to cause the hair to not thin out?

If it's thinning because of age/genetics, there's nothing you can do. :/ However, if it's vitamins or thyroid related, there's hope! You should visit your doc for some tests.

Definitely see the doctor. Mine was thinning due to thyroid and other hormonal problems. Now it's growing back in!

It's probably from your cancer treatments. Perhaps with time it will come back stronger?

Speak to your doctor, the right treatment depends on the precise cause.

I would add that when you go to your physician ask him/ her if it is safe for you to try minoxidil. Most doctors in US dont really care about hair (for years no one ever told me I could try it even if I mentioned that my hair had thinned since it didnt really bother me much and I told them so). (Since cancer treatment was mentioned)
