What do you do with your hair when you ride motorcycle?
I make a flat bun and pin it with a flat burette under my helmet. This worked well last year but this year my hair is longer and it's making a pressure point that is uncomfortable. I bought a head scarf thing this winter that is like a skull cap but has a pouch in the back for hair but it is nylon and slips off.
We rode almost 200 miles this weekend and I'm thinking about cutting my hair. Please help me love riding and my hair.

Have you tried crown braids? Others used them with helmets if not I'd try a pony tail.

I usually put my hair in a pony tail wrapped with a hair glove so only the last inch or so is loose. I also wear a silk scarf to protect the hair under my helmet.

Having my hair contained under my helmet makes uncomfortable pressure points. A pony isn't any better than just leaving it loose. I did that once and it took me an hour to comb out.

Suzy, how do the hair gloves stay on? Do they hook to a ponytail holder?

The hair glove keeps my ponytail tangle free. Since my hair is slippery I braid my ponytail and then hook/snap the hair glove around it. The hook stays in place and I can ride carefree knowing I won't have to comb out a rat's nest when I get home.

I recommend http://www.hairglove.com/catalog/hair-gloves or www.hairglovesfromhawaii.com (http://www.hairglovesfromhawaii.com) Keep the rubber on the road and the shiny side up!

I imagine a ponyscrub under your helmet would work quite well. At very, very minimum I would suggest braiding instead of wearing a ponytail.

Has anyone tried a hair Wrapter? http://www.wrapter.com/index.htm

Twin French or Dutch braids, with the ends tucked under? (I really can't advise, since I cut from shoulder to pixie right before riding to Sturgis... )

I braid my hair, and then tuck the braid underneath my jacket. I do either a French or Dutch braid. I get tangles, but they aren't nearly as bad as if I just wore a pony.

Haven't ridden a motorcycle for a while, but I used to wear a scarf to keep my hair inside my jacket. Faux silk scarf in summer. I used to tie my hair back as well, but not if I was in a hurry.
