A simple style, but absolutely stunning! How long did the braid take? Fishtails always take so much longer than normal braids for me.

Thank you so much, everybody! You are all too kind. Several of you asked how long the herringbone braid took~ yes, these braids do take a longer time, but I really like the look of them! This one actually did not take very long, probably around ten minutes?

Thank you! I wrapped the ends around the base of my ponytail like a bun, and held the bun in place with the two matching hairclips. I appreciate all the views and kind comments! More pictures to come :blossom:

How long does it take you to do a herringbone braid on your hair? Mine is at BCL and it can take me 30 minutes to do one with tiny sections. I imagine it takes you forever, but the results are spectacular!

Thank you, everybody! In answer to your questions about how long it takes me to fix my hair, if it's a simple style like a mohawk French braid and a bun it takes me about ten minutes. The double French braids can take a little longer, and the herringbone braid took about fifteen minutes. So usually I can have my hair fixed in 10-20 minutes. Of course, the fancy braided bun in these pictures http://691superlonghair.blogspot.com/2013/05/fancy-braided-bun.html or a Grecian hairstyle like this one http://691superlonghair.blogspot.com/2013/02/grecian-up-do.html takes longer, maybe 30 minutes.

Thank you for noting Lilith Moon videos. I checked them out and they are great. I thought my hair would have to be classic or longer to do those styles, but Lilith’s length is only BSL or so. I was very pleasantly surprised. I’ll see if I can do some of those gorgeous braids. She does note that she does something to change texture of her hair first though (like a mouse or something). Do you also use some sort of a product before braiding?

In answer to your questions, I get most of my hairclips here locally on the island where I live. Sometimes I get them online at http://www.sophiasstyle.com/. About using mousse or hair gel before I braid my hair, I don't do any of that. Sometimes if my hair is still a little wet from washing it the night before, I'll do braided styles with more intricate braids, like my Simply Elegant Hairstyle. There are not as many fly-aways that way.

It's been a few days, but I have some more pictures to add :) These are from a look I created with the three accent braids from my earlier Boho herringbone braid. I added a sideways waterfall braid, and a low braided bun.

I tried a 6-strand braid today and was able to do it! I made a hairband with my 6-strand braid and put the rest of my hair into a bun. The bun is actually a loose rope braid. Such pretty styles, the both of them. Can't say which I prefer, as I like them both equally! The banana-clip style is not unlike the peacock twist I have in my hair 6 days out of 7, only it's not braided, and I have less hair (waist length). :D
