Do overnight coconut oil soaks on dry hair in the run up and consider dying right over the last oil application. Don't use harsh persulphate bleach unless you are lifting quite a few shades, a weak blonde box dye is more controllable because it only contains peroxide. I use Garnier Fructis Radiant Blondes which has no persulphate bleach, sulphate surfactants, silicones nor ammonia: you need to maintain an even tepid/ warm temperature to get an even colour, so paint the roots last, wrap the hair around your head, wear a shower cap whilst it processes, don't sit in a cool room. I added melted coconut oil to the bottle last time and the product worked same as usual.
