Help me find outs how to do this hair! Freddie Lounds from Hannibal.

So my question is this: how does one achieve hair like this without heat? I have googled tutorials, but only found tutorials that gave looser curles. I have tried rags to curl, but I was scared that rags maybe damaging my hair, and the results were never as tight as the curls in the pictures.
What do you think?

You might have success doing pin curls with teeny, tiny strands of hair. I remember seeing a tutorial before that I'm now struggling to find where the woman was able to achieve a similar look by curling just a tiny bit of hair at a time. In my experience you are correct that rag curls are typically a lot looser, despite how little hair you use for each rag. I don't fine them damaging though if I am careful.

Something to consider is that Freddie Lounds' texture might be natural and difficult to duplicate, or it might also be a wig.

I would try curling your hair with rolled magazine paper. It gives very tight curls. There's a couple of youtube videos about this. :)

I've seen youtube tutorials where they wrap their hair around straws, that might give you the desired tiny spiral curl, if rag curls aren't working for you.

Thanks! Im trying some pin curls tonight, then I'll try straws or paper tomorrow if it doesn't work. Fingers crossed :)

I'd use small sponge rollers rap them so they form a spiral curl don't brush out.

You might try the Skip Curl Method. It uses a lot of gel/product but no heat. Someone posted a link to this video (http://curlyhair.wikia.com/wiki/Skip_Curl_Method) in another forum I frequent. I have not tried it as my hair is not curly, but the poster seemed pleased.

I can't really offer any help as I am a natural curly and wouldn't really know how to achieve natural looking curls on non curly hair.
BUT, I just want to say that I was so excited when I saw her for the first time on Hannibal and recognised that she does The Curly Girl Method!!
You can just -see- that she uses it. I've never seen that before in movies/TV.
Beautiful, well moisturized, super defined, bouncy, shiny, natural curls. And some volume on top! ^_^

I know how you feel! Her hair is gorgeous ! It's just the epitome of health. My hair is strange, naturally it's quite ringletty and curly, combed its wavy and brushed ( which I never do anymore) it's frizzy straight.
Atm I'm using a sulphate free shampoo ( loreal) is that basically the same as curly girl routine? x
