Question For The Blondes

Something that poped into my mind ive been currious about. When wet how much darker is your hair? I go from my profile pic (the scalp hair color) to a medium brunette. When i was a teenager and had highlights they stood out when wet but now that im natural it all goes dark and kind of ashy toned. Does your hair change color/tonme drastically when wet?

Oh yes, my hair looks light brown when wet. My husband's hair goes from medium brown to black, so I think it happens for everyone. :)

How interesting i wonder what it is about bleaching that makes the hairs stay bright even when wet. Good to know thaty dramatic of a color change is normal.

How interesting i wonder what it is about bleaching that makes the hairs stay bright even when wet. Good to know thaty dramatic of a color change is normal.

Maybe i have funny hair, well i probably do. I remember scaring my SIL when she did my highlights (she is a beautician) becausue my foils got so hot and they started to kinda smoke/steam. She had been doing hair for a few years by then and only had it happen once before and not as bad. My highlights stayed very bright. Event hough they looked natural in my dry hair they looked near white in my wet hair adn really stood out.

Mine also shows the highlights brighter when wet. All of my hair gets darker but the natural is an indiscernible dark color when wet.

Mine goes quite a lot darker. The difference between the virgin (ashy blonde) and bleached is more pronounced. When I was younger I had white blonde hair and that changed colour less when wet, I still looked blonde with wet hair.

I have two years of roots grown out and something like 13 inches of bleached hair in the lower portion. It's about 1 level lighter than my natural, and when my hair gets wet, it does get darker, but not as much as my natural. When I used Sun-In and my hair was about a level 10 (platinum), it really didn't darken that much when wet, so yeah I'd say the very light colors, whether natural or bleached, just won't darken a lot (I'd guess because there's so little pigment there).

My hair gets pretty dark when wet too. Doesn't look blonde until it starts drying. It's never been color treated.

Ditto to this. I have a white blonde streak from the sun in that is very stark when my hair is all wet. My natural highlights go dark when wet.

My hair is dark blonde to begin with and my hair turns to a brownish shade when wet.
