Hey all i am having a brain block. Can anyone reccomend some vertically held buns other than the infinity/figure 8? I have some great sticks but the toppers are to heavy to wear horizontally :(. The infinity isnt comfrtable or secure for me anymore and thats the only one ive dont that holds with the stick vertical. Anything for TB+ length is fine, my hair is thin from the shoulders down so i can get away with some styles ment for longer hair.

If you know of a tutuorial for it thats a plus :). Thanks!

The Pha bun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsF9Kp5W9Ig) jumps to mind. If I think of anything else I'll post.

I do a bunch that are usually horizontally held, but I twist them to be either upright or diagonal. It works.

And the Jamie Leigh/French Pinless (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6vq6paUaF0) is a braided vertical stick bun, that should hold a heavy topper in place.

I love her videos! I don't know how I missed this one, but I know how I'll be wearing my hair tomorrow :D

Have you tried using two sticks, crossed a bit? That tends to distribute the weight over more hairs and stabilize the bun. Also, as you mention being able to get away with some styles for longer hair, you may try gossamer's helix bun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2t0IMASesI). :agape:

I have tried it before but it tends to pull at my scalp hair in an uncomfortable way as the bun shifts throughout the day and i hate to fuss with my hair. And ohh yes i forgot about that glorious helix!

I played with it this morning, more comfortable to me vertical than horizonal but i need to do some tweaking still.

It's not a stick weight issue for me so much as certain toppers don't look right horizontally. In that case, I've found that I can often just twist a horizontal bun around an extra quarter turn (or a quarter turn less) and do it vertically. Both Chinese buns and lazy wraps work well vertically.

Thank you i hadnt tried the LWB yet. Been trying to do the Pha bun but i always get it too tight. Its either a big flop or a face lift any tips for me?

What is the LHC lazy wrap bun? Searches for that term are useless, lol.
