On the 22nd of April it had been one year since I shaved my head :D And I thought i'd share some photos even though I never really post on the site, as I just like to browse. I do however have a question, now.

So here is where I started on April 22nd 2012:

And this is me on the 22nd of April 2013:

http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t591/PoppyTemp/IMG_0727_zpscb17c393.jpg (http://s1315.photobucket.com/user/PoppyTemp/media/IMG_0727_zpscb17c393.jpg.html)http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t591/PoppyTemp/IMG_0720_zpse071bed7.jpg (http://s1315.photobucket.com/user/PoppyTemp/media/IMG_0720_zpse071bed7.jpg.html)

So my question to you is, do you think there is a possibility that Lush caca brun can stunt hair growth? Unfortunately my hair hasn't grown a millimetre in the last one and a half months, and this is the only thing I have done differently. Has anyone ever experienced loss of hair growth from this stuff?

Thanks!

Wow, that is such amazing growth! And lovely colour! But an unfortunate name for said colour, lol! I don't know about why your hair might have stopped growing, but it would be good to learn the LHC mantra - patience! (Yes, easier said than done I know).

Great hair growth!

I dont have an answer to your question though. Maybe it is just a temporary stall? I have those occasionally.

Wow, that grew in a year's time? Awesome!

Sorry, I don't know anything about the growth stunt...

I agree it's probably just stunned growth and lovely hair by the way.

I have times where my hair is just stuck for awhile...your hair looks really good. I wish I could grow that much in a year :3

Are you sure they are not growing? it's sometimes hard to measure accurately. By the way amazing progress and also we have exactly the same hairstyle and colour :-)

I'm sorry I'm not able to answer your question, but oh my, your hair looks great! So healthy! :flower:

I used Lush's caca bar once before using BAQ henna and while I didn't like the results, I don't think that there is anything in it that would cause stunted growth. Maybe your hair is just in a temporary stall? It must be exhausted after all that growth :D It really is amazing how much your hair has grown in a year! Looks fantastic!

Hey, another Aussie! :) Your hair looks amazing PoppyCakes, such great growth so far! I'm thinking maybe just a stall, it may have grown a little, it's pretty hard to get an exact measurement down to the millimetre.

I *highly* doubt that it's a hair product. Could more than likely be a temporary stall, either that or you're not noticing / not measuring accurately.

wow. Your hair is grow fast! Did you do any trims while growing out? your hemline is so blunt. I know a lot of people that start grow out from a pixia cut or shorter get a natural layers because the way that hair grows. Unfortunately I have no idea about your question..

Great progress in a year!! your hair seems pretty healthy too! What made you shave it in the first place if you dont mind me asking?

As to lush cacas, I used all of them before and they did nothing to my growth rate. I loved the conditioning effect though. I am now on normal henna/indigo mix (way better result)
Maybe you are under stress, or eating less protein? For me personally, if I stop taking hair, skin and nails vitamins then my growth is way slower.

Don't lose heart though. You are doing great!

Amazing progress! You must have lost a lot of length due to trimming and shaping up the hair and it's STILL so long!! Well done :) It will only get easier now!

And I think you hair just has a growth stall? You might just get a growth spurt in summer or something :)

I think that is amazing growth. I was blown away when I scrolled down and saw it! It must just be a natural pause. Looks like so shiny and healthy and smooth.

Thanks everyone! I’m very grateful for the fast growth that I’ve had, and I guess I owe a lot of it to LHC!! It’s just a little scary when you stop seeing growth (it is pretty easy for me to get accurate results as I pluck a few hairs out of my hair and measure them from there). But thank you everyone, I guess I just need to be more patient!

Yeah I trimmed a few inches off the bottom hem, so that my top layers could catch up. I've put away the scissors now so I can just grow!

Thank you, I shaved because I had bleached/dyed/straightened/extensioned it too much. It was falling out pretty bad, and I didn't have much hair left, so I kind of had to.

i second AnnaB about the proteins and vits. but i have to say, last year i had a bad flu with a lasting cough and had to take antibiotics, after that my hair stopped growing completely for 2 months and fell out badly. when it started growing again it grew very slow for about 3 months then back to normal. this year i had again a really bad flu but didnt take any antibiotics on purpose but instead i use coconut oil internally to kill the virus. my hair grew, but much slower, it still fell out pretty bad until recently.
all despite taking vits, lots of protein etc.
so, many factors can influence growth.

One and a half months isn't enough time to give you enough obvious growth. If you have an average growth rate you can expect about .75 in that at amount of time which is not exactly a measurement you can eyeball, (Even if you're comparing pictures, because your hair may behave differently from day to day). Give yourself more time before you determine it's in a stall.

Perhaps you could try stretching your length checks out to every 6 months because even if you're getting average growth, you can eyeball 3 inches of growth with more ease than .75 of growth.

Congrats on your growth thus far!

I'm with Helix. Eat well, exercise, and ignore your hair for 3 or 4 months. (If it gets in your eyes, pin the front up.)
You've had great growth so far. Stall or not, it will grow more in time. Ignore it until Christmas, then have a look! :)

Wow is all I can say. Wow wow wow. I am growing my hair from a very short pixie and my hair is not your length all over yet! Your hair has grown ridiculously fast. I have no idea why some peoples hair grows so fast.

in that case LHC is the perfect place for you and your new hair :) Loving the colour by the way.

Your hair seems to have grown really fast for being shaved!
And I have no idea if it stalls growth, I've never used it myself.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. You have great looking skin, though!

This is so encouraging to me as I'm growing out a recent shave. :) Your hair looks amazing and you are very pretty. Don't get discouraged! Load up on veggies + protein and manage you stress levels, your growth will pick up again.
