Loving my hair today! Heat-free waves ;)

My dream hair would be to have gentle waves, or soft curls, but with type 1b hair, thats never going to happen, so on a whim last night, I decided to try a method I saw on Torrin Paige's youtube, and got this

I made 4 braids, leaving long tails that I then pincurled (Torrin uses rollers, but my hair spits them out :mad: ), I pinned the braids over the top of my head, put my satin cap over the top, and went to sleep.
The results were.....poofy! Oiled hands raked through calmed and defined the waves though, and I LOVE the results!! I'll be doing this often I think :cheese:

Looks lovely! I've been meaning to try that tutorial, but I'm not all that great at braiding yet. Did you have dry hair when you started or was it slightly damp?

My hair was totally dry this time, though I might dampen it slightly next time to see if it makes a difference. I can't damp braid after a wash, it won't dry braided, but I can re-dampen very slightly once its fully dry, and it'll then dry braided. Yes, my hair is strange!!

That was the colour my Mum's hair used to be when she was younger and had it long.
I wish I had inherited it from her..

Pretty waves/curls too...but it was the colour that really got me! :0)

My colours is all thanks to henna, and a little bleach for the lighter streaks ;) My avatar picture is my natural colour, which is definitely a more ash shade. I love my henna colour though, it feels more me somehow ;)
