Hey everyone
It's been a while since I've been on here and posted. Since my break on here, I grew to mid-back length...and got bored. That's when I had the brilliant idea to try to cut layers into my hair by myself. Well needless to say it was a disaster. So I've got an appointment set for this Saturday at a salon to try to fix it all. The problem is that I can't seem to find any pictures of long layers that I like. I've googled and everything.
I'd love to be able to see if anyone on here has midback length + and layers so I can get inspiration and possibly have something available to show the stylist so there is no confusion.

Sooo all you ladies who have wonderfully (non-messed-up) layers and long hair, please post a pic on here!

Thanks in advance. ^_^

P.S. I will post a picture post appointment. Unfortunately I know I will loose some length, so it will undoubtedly be the same length as when I first started on here.
-sigh-

I'm getting layers put in this Saturday, so I don't have any pictures of my own, but my Pinterest board (http://pinterest.com/minxe/cheveux/) has quite a few pictures of layers. Most of them are on curled hair that's a little longer than BSL, but you might find an idea or two.

This one (http://media-cache-is0.pinimg.com/736x/ba/ed/5d/baed5d0c45035925d6737dc4af1ef865.jpg) is my favorite, a little longer than waist, and the one I'm going to have my stylist go off of.

Good luck on your search and with your cut! (:

Whew ! Sorry for overloading you, but I wanted to show as many different lengths and layers as I could. Good luck, I'll be looking for pics.

I love layers as well, may hair doesn't appreciate being one length, it goes all wonky!

I have thick heavy hair, too. Here's a comparison of no layers (currently) and light layers (2009):

and at BSL or mid back:

I tend to like straight hair best w/out layers -- or just w/ some light face framing ones -- and curly/wavy hair w/ layers. It just helps w/ the curl patten and shape so much w/ that sort of hair. :-)

Ultrabella - I have always admired your layers! I hoped you would post on here lol. And spidermom your hair is lovely! I think mine is thinner than yours though, but I have a ton of it. Usually my hair is naturally straight but because I sleep with a bun every night it's wavy basically every day. I'm so excited to get my layers fixed. I'm hoping that they will be easy upkeep with still continuing to grow out longer...

Spidermom, I soo love your hair in light layers! It perfectly highlights what's so beautiful and special about your hair. Imho, light layers!

I need some layers but I'm so scared of getting my hair butchered. I think I will consider it when my hair gets longer. I love layers when they're done right.

What about straight hair? Does it look as beautiful with layers? I'm thinking about layers and was wondering with waist length hair and layers if it would be impossible to do any updos or braids.

I have TB length ii/iii hair and layering didn't do my hair any favors, the bottom third looked thin and scraggely no matter what was done to it. However, I do have face framing layers which I like and would suggest to anyone considering getting their hair layered.

I think ALL hair looks better with layers, one length is so unflattering on most people too. The downside is that you can't wear braids/single braid without having to re-braid lots of times throughout the day, at least I can't :(

Nothing helpful to add but WOW! If I had curly hair I would definitely have long layers. So gorgeous! Alas, I am a straightie. :(
