Hey everybody,

I hope you all had a great Easter! Here are some pictures from the latest post on my hairstyle blog. After creating this look, I saw an article on Fox News that this "lob" as they call it is "Hollywood's Hottest Haircut" for Spring 2013. The day before, I had braided my hair while it was still wet. So when I took the braids down the next way, my hair had beach waves. Instead of combing them out, I put my hair up into a high ponytail. Then I grabbed the middle of my ponytail and folded my hair up and over. I wrapped the lower half of my ponytail around the base of the ponytail holder like a bun, then pulled the folded part up a little bit to cover the bun (I hope this makes sense!) I held everything in place with these matching hairclips. If you want to see more pictures, you can go to my blog. The address for this post is http://691superlonghair.blogspot.com/2013/04/lob-long-bob-for-super-long-hair.html

Thanks again!

Are you trying to give people a heart-attack when they see you and assume you've cut your hair? I'll have to copy this technique. :D

I'm so glad you posted this here with bit more explanation! I got the email notification from your blog but I don't have an account there so couldn't post my questions about how you did it. I think I get it now though :-). I want to try this. My hair might not be thick or long enough though, but it might be a way to wear my messy braid waves before they fall out.

That's really clever, it sounds easier than a normal faux bob too :) Might try it for a giggle.

That's adorable. I nearly freaked when I saw how short your hair looked!

It looks very realistic! I'll have to try it for myself - it will be much easier for me to copy than your usual intricate braided styles :)

Thanks for sharing!

I'm not familiar with the OP but from what I gather, if she had cut her hair it would be have disastrous :) However, it does look like she's got shorter hair. I know another technique for a faux bob is to tie it off just above the shoulder, and tuck it in underneath. It creates a full effect on the back and then you can style the front to mimic the shorter hair style.
