Hello!!!

So I am in need of easy, rather hair-friendly pin-up ideas. I have never done this type of hair style but I want to try it. I would be willing to use a minimal amount of heat and a bit of hair spray, but I am against teasing in any form.

I would love to see pictures and tutorials if you all have any!

My hair is nearly BSL, if that makes a difference in the styles that I would be able to do.

Thank you all!!!

I hope you get a lot of assistance, I'm running out the door, but have referred this thread to you (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=89087), so hopefully that will help spark some responses. :blossom:

Look up victory rolls!!! You do need bobby pins but should not need to tease and if you use a little aloe on damp hair they stay up for as long as you like. You can then either let your length loose or bun it or any other number of fun things!

I'm very interested too: I love pin up hair, but I am quite inexperienced!

Most women kept their hair loose and curled (brushed out curls) in the 50's. I think half updos can be very handy because there is still lot of hair down, but the most is safe and protected. Pincurls and victory rolls can turn the simplest bun into a very vintage, retro hairstyle.
Blue or red bandanas are great because they are very pin-up, effortless and even protective!

This is my favourite tutorial, its more "early sixties", but IMO this is still pin-up as hell! I hope you will find it useful somehow - I obviously skip the backcombing, brushing and curling. The rolls in the back ends beinh messier, but they still work with my hair, using long pins.

Oh and water curls for that soft curly wavy look. I haven't done them in ages, damp sections of hair rolled and pinned, if you do it well enough you can even wear them out for the day, however people may think you cut your hair...

Ooh! I recommend watching TheCherryDollface (http://www.youtube.com/user/Thecherrydollface/videos)'s tutorials, she uses heat for her haistyles, but many of the looks could easily be recreated with regular rollers/pin curls (after all it IS the original way to do it!)

These are some I love

Vintage 1950's a la Marilyn Monroe (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uw90n9zWEGE) I tried this one out and ofc it doesn't look as polished with rollers but it was pretty decent anyways!

Faux Victory Rolls (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzaNNhHbCJ0)

Victory Roll Updo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcBUnyK2m8Y)

Faux Bumper Bang with a hair rat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3HXod-Lc2w)

And here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sco6qt-m_1I)'s a little tutorial which shows how to do easy pin curls, it saved my life :p

Edit because apparently this is my 200 post and wanted to write it lol

I saw a few tutorials with victory rolls and at first I thought they looked weird, but the more I saw them, the more I liked them. This is most likely what I will do.

Thank you! When I see tutorials with teasing, I kinda just skip that part and hope it still comes out well. Haha

That sounds pretty! Maybe I'll do this sometime!
