I decided to grow my hair out because after sporting a buzz cut for years I wanted to see what it was like having long hair at least once in my life. Right now I'd say it's in the awkward stage; long enough to get in the way but not long enough to tie back. I've had to resist the temptation to just buzz it all off, I think I'm gonna grow it long enough to tie in a low ponytail. This is what it looks like from air drying after a shower, it's naturally that straight. What do you think so far?

WOW you could be my oldest son. He has the same hair. How old are you? That length/cut is very "in" around here for young men (16-22). Maybe older, I am not sure. All the kids I know are in that age range. My son is about to be 21.

Anyway, are you saying that is one year's growth from a buzz cut? If so that is awesome progress! You should be able to tie it back in another year! Maybe less.

Thanks! Yes, one year ago it was half an inch long on top. Oh and I'm 22, but people say I look younger.

Well the tween stage you are in may add to your youthful looks. I suspect once it is long enough to pull back you will look a bit older but who can tell. My son looks younger than 21, but then, I think he is stuck in my mind's eye at 18 for me. LOL.

Thanks! Yes, a year ago it was half an inch long. Where I'm from I stand out with my hair, most guys have it cut very short. :P Oh and I'm 22, but some people say I look younger.

It looks great! Shiny and healthy. I bet it will look even more awesome longer. Judging by the way it's flipping a bit at the ends, I'd guess that more length would reveal some amount of wave (1b-2a?). Good luck finding out!

Oh wow, it's so healthy, don't ever dye it lol. I wish I kept my virgin hair and so my hair would look nearly as healthy as yours.

Our hair is kinda the same lenght, mine being a little longer (an inch past chin) at the front and an inch shorter at the back cause I trimmed more to even it up a little. The only difference is that I have to flat iron my hair to look like that :( Jealous as hell over here. xD
Congrats on your awesome growth and happy growing!

It looks a lot like my hair, except yours is a tad straighter. In 3 more months, it'll be much more manageable. Hang in there! It looks great so far. Soft, strong, and healthy! :)
